City Barrel Brewery + Kitchen reviews
19Had the Octoberfest beer and it was absolutely amazing. Ordered the bulgogi tacos and fries and they were both scrumptious. Would 100% recommend food and drinks.
The staff are very friendly and prompt to greet you. The food was a bit pricey for me though, and I had to order tacos and wings to feel full, but I imagine the experience would have been better if I was drinking too.
The nicest people work there! Food was fantastic and great craft beer selection! They put the Chi-Bears game on for us!
Came in with a party of 9 and was told the two big tables were already occupied and would be an hour and fifteen minute wait. So I gave my name and number and was told I would get a text when one became available. There were plenty of regular tables available so I asked if we split our party up would that work. Was told no. So we left and went to other places in the meantime. Was in the area at least a few hours. Never received a text.
EDIT 10/8/23: After receiving correspondence in reply to this review I sent an email to the person who replied. It’s been 2 weeks since I sent it and still no reply. So that leads me to believe they were just trying to save face without actually doing anything to help the customer. Since that’s the case I wont be returning to this establishment.
It was my first time visiting. I loved it! The food was so tasty, and the customer service was outstanding. Allison was sweet, attentive, & very charming. She gave great recommendations and made sure we were happy with our selections. I can’t wait to return and try more!
This is the second year in a row we hosted a corporate event at City Barrel Brewing. Both years the experience was top notch! Christina was awesome in helping book the event and getting our setup handled, an excellent Assistant to the Regional Manager. Allison served our group and she could not have been any better! Very attentive, humorous, and always smiling. Jack was at the door and was always willing to help out when needed and to suggest a beer to try. The food was very tasty and the drink selection was broad enough to satisfy everyone that attended our event. Well done City Barrel! We’ll be back!
First time in KC. Scoped this place out ahead of time and it didn’t disappoint. Great beer list and really good NEIPAs. Shouts to Kenny for great service and conversation.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and the beers. Here part of a work related event. Did I mention I enjoyed the beer? Midwest Nice and Space Dragon are two new faves for me.
Came in with a group of 12 on a pub crawl. This was a fantastic stop. Wonderful food & drink (in-house and local selections). Great waitress and staff who were friendly and fun to talk with during a slower time of day (Allison et al)
Hello Joe, it's impressive that you not only replied to my review, but you also wanted feedback to get even better. I was previously under the impression that 5 stars for anything really doesn't exist. But you have proven me wrong. Thank you!
This place was bangin'! We just went there for lunch but we got roped into playing Blindfold Darts by the waitress after 6 Long Island Ice Teas. Turns out it's not that safe. After giving out some band aids we ordered lunch. I had the Greasy Fatback Cracklin's and my wife just grabbed a turkey leg. I don't know what happened but somewhere during our desert, karaoke broke out and I end up belting out a Journey tune that brought down the house! I think it was the Axe Spray my wife got me for Christmas, but the chicks were all over me. One girl shot me a glance just as I was about to bridge in the song "Open Arms" ANYWAY, if you do go there, tip well. All the waitresses are pregnant, aint one of them married. Its tragic.
We went out for a casual meet and greet with an old friend of my husband. This place had excellent drinks and a fun atmosphere where we could hear each other talking.
City Barrel is one of my favs in KC! Great atmosphere and customer service. The food and drinks are unique & always delicious.
Such a fun Night with Bar-Manager Aaron and his father. We were the last guests, tasted so many beers and found out, that Geology + Craft Beer belong together) Greetings from Germany.
Great place for dinner. Beer and drinks are greats. You definitely won't be stealing any chairs they are super heavy.even just to pull out and sit down lol
Overall great atmosphere
Finally visited this great brewery! Just a few blocks' walk east from the Crossroads streetcar stop. The environment was nice, loved the beer selection (get a flight to sample several.) I had the avocado chicken sandwich and fries and husband had the pork tacos and SUPER hot Jamaican wings. Food was very tasty! Several locally sourced options. Service at the bar was average overall, though our main bartender was helpful with choices. Outdoor seating and lots of indoor space.
Great location. I wish we found it sooner. Love the atmosphere, had a fun shaded outdoor deck area, and an awesome beer and cocktail selection that are yummy. They even had a gluten free section. We will be back when in town.
Awesome place. Venessa at the bar was super friendly! Beers are great they even go the extra step to hand dry all their glasses. Food is excellent too - we took the recommendation to get the dry rub chicken wings and then get all the sauces on the side to dip. So excellent.
Wanted to like it more. Maybe if we weren't out beer touring and trying to experience the local scene, this would have been better. Service was good, just felt like it was a new swanky place that all the elite wanted to say they went to a brewery. Beer was at least solid.
