City Diner reviews
17All ingredients were the cheapest quality possible which was not expected for a $13 omelette. Omelette was half way decent but this may be the first breakfast spot I have ever been to that did not have butter. Would not recommend.
We visited late Sunday morning for brunch. We waited a while which was expected. The service was pretty slow. The food was okay. Definitely was not terrible, but was not my favorite place to brunch.
I took a friend to lunch there during the snow storm. We both had burgers with onion rings. The price was reasonable and the food was delicious. My waitress was very nice and had a great positive attitude. What I really like is the light rail takes you right there!
Very busy so I understand the wait but no apologies for waiting over 30 minutes for over cooked chicken sandwich and Italian chicken sandwich. Very disappointed for all the recommendations I received. I will definitely try their breakfast since I was told that is good.
Great service! Breakfast was the best (stack of pancakes and two eggs over easy!). Coffee delicious as well. Very fair price. I’ll be back!
We visited late Sunday morning. We waited a while, which was expected. The service was pretty slow. The food was okay. Wasn't terrible, but not my favorite place to brunch.
Great food. I think my friend had a Joe's special. Too much food for me. But whoever Joe is, I want to shake his hand. Chicken Fried Steak on top of biscuits & gravy and hash browns.
Waited a little long to get served. Very clean, it's like being in a little town diner. Good was good.
Only way food would be better to me if the gravy didn't come from a box. Still going back soon.
I haven't been there in a long time but the staff and waitresses were still very nice and the food is excellent.and Quick service
Great food, everything we had was top notch. The biscuits wouldn't be great standalone (to my preference, not rich enough) but are perfect for biscuits and gravy. Both types of sausage are delicious and the bacon was solid as well. Gravy was awesome as were the home fries. We'll be back!
Got hit by an SUV while crossing the street on my way for this food. 10/10 would get hit again to experience.
Great little breakfast spot open since 1937. Keeping it 100 I’ve only eaten the chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy. That being said I’ve had the CFS 3 times in 3 weeks. Don’t tell my doctor.
Its good. Biscuits and gravy is kinda my measure and these are good but not great. They're big, but could have more flavor for sure.
City Diner is a staple of the City Market and I think was birthed from the Missouri mud fully formed. Great service with very consistent food quality. It's a little small inside and tables sot close together, so it's not for the claustrophobic. Assume you'll have a wait if you come on a weekend, but highly recommend
Very consistent, delicious blueberry pancakes, and excellent service. I’m a regular and it’s my favorite breakfast place.
Everything was great just took quite a while to get are food cause they where so busy i guess but thats not a bad thing it means there good.
