This is such a scam apartment. I signed the relent contract on 8/24/2023 and they still make me to pay for September rent or if not they are going to deduct to my security deposit. I am an international student and they are just trying to push everything toward you to make you pay for nothing. I have disregarded all the bad things in the apartment itself and they now trynna grab my deposit also. Run out of here when you can.

DO NOT LET YOUR COLLEGE KID LIVE HERE! I lived here for two years mainly for the dog park that they provide. Which the hotel next door would also use which was not disclosed in the lease and they would LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN almost leading to my dog running out into the street multiple times (at one point they put a padlock on to stop it but the maintenance is lazy and when taking out the trash they would not replace it). My car was also almost towed out of my own spot due to them somehow taking me off of the email list and I missed a memo about repainting the lot. They give very little heads up (one was less than 12 hours before it was closed for 2 days!) before closing the leasing office which left me and multiple other people not being able to retrieve packages ordered second. Every maintenance worker and leasing office agent treats you like you are a child and stupid. We recently moved out and they have charged us over $450 (kept both security deposits and we also paid pet rent) for carpets that when we cleaned while moving in the black was pitch black and unable to be cleaned. While I admit there was a rip in the carpet it was made by us literally just standing around our dining room table which I personally would describe as wear and tear. I cannot express how much you should not live here. The amenities are easy to get intrigued by but not worth the amount of stress that this place causes. Even laundry was horrible many of the dryers and washers do not work properly and numerous items of clothing have been ruined by broken lint traps ripping it all. The quality of living made me tempted to break my lease early but I wanted to avoid fees but oh well! This apartment does not care about your children do not let them live here! My personal favorite moment was when they were repainting and would leave open paint cans in the hallway leaving the whole place smelling fully like chemicals!

The absolute worst apartments to live in as a SLU student.
As someone who has been a resident of these apartments for the last 2 years now, city lofts management is some of the most rude, condescending, predatory people I have ever interacted with, especially Ray and Elaina. Not only do they use shady tactics in order to coerce you into signing, once anything remotely goes wrong in your unit that requires managements attention, good luck because it will never be fixed.

I have one specific example that my apartment dealt with now for 7 months, since January. We arrived back from winter break to find the internet in our unit wasn’t working, so I immediately went downstairs to front office and reported the issue and was told it was my responsibility to contact spectrum and have them come out to fix it, I did so and the technician couldn’t resolve the issue, but his solution and recommendation was for us to purchase range extenders and set up our own network in the unit, we did this as instructed, and requested reimbursement from management, as this was a service we paid monthly for but were not receiving, they promptly and in a rude tone told me I was in violation of my lease contract and they would be reimbursing for no such thing, and that they had contacted spectrum to come out and try again. The second technician came a week later and also could not fix the issue, and after I reported this to management it took them an entire MONTH for them to send another, after constantly texting them requesting updates on the situation. This technician came to the conclusion that our router needed to be replaced but he did not have the necessary equipment to do so and we would need to schedule a new appointment and have ANOTHER technician come out. After the cycle repeating of going back and forth with the office begging for an appointment to be scheduled, to the point where we had to threaten an attorney to get them to take any action, we finally get one after another 3 weeks of waiting. It is at this point (after now 4 different technicians have looked at our unit) that managements bright idea was to purchase the cheapest possible (yes we verified it was the cheapest one on the market) range extender and see if that worked (Keep in mind the floors and ceilings are half foot thick concrete). After previously telling us we were in violation of our lease for doing the exact same thing and refusing to reimburse us for this, ironic right? Their solution to make me happy was to give me a 20 dollar e-gift card to their community rewards website, which nobody uses. As of turning my keys in and moving out, nearly 8 months later, our unit still did not have a working router and city never followed up with me regarding this.

The only positive thing I have to say about my experience here the last 2 years is the maintenance staff is incredibly nice, but I cannot say the same for management. Anytime anything goes wrong in your unit they will do everything in their power to ignore you until they cannot anymore. As I have already moved out, I do not wish to be contacted regarding this review, I simply am sharing this experience so that others do not make the same mistake that myself and so many others have.
Good riddance

My daughter was locked out of her apartment at 4: 30am while moving out. She called the emergency lock out number and was told that the person who would unlock her apartment lives off property and would not be there until 6: 30am. She was left to sit outside for an hour and a half, in the dark, by herself before another resident came by and that person let her in. The employee did not show up until after 6: 30am. I called and spoke to the manager of the complex, Sheylan, and was told that he was sorry that it had happened. I expressed that it was my daughter that he needed to apologize to and he guaranteed me that she would be contacted, which she wasn't. Then to make matters worse, she turns in her items to move out and her parking pass has a broken plastic piece so they charge her $50.00. She stayed outside on the street for an hour and a half because no one from the complex would let her in but they will charge her for a parking permit.
There priorities are not in line with the safety of the students who live there. It seems they are quick to charge fees for everything under the sun, but are not quick to react when the safety of a resident in in question. Please be aware of the safety of your sons and daughters who are living there.

I was told and confirmed with the front office multiple times that I could stay until August 6th because I was transferring my lease. City Lofts management called me July 18th and told me I could no longer do that and that I had to be out by July 3st. I had already made plans and have multiple receipts of apartment officials confirming that I could stay later. I spoke to a higher up at the property and he again told me that I could not do this. I requested information for someone further up management in Landmark properties and was told he would send me the information. I waited and followed up with the office to obtain this information and have been left unanswered by the office. They then proceeded to send me an email to pay my lease transfer but continue to ignore my request for management information. During this process I was left with no answers, no solutions and only rude demeanor by city lofts officials.

The absolute worst apartment building I have ever lived in. As a resident of 2 years, there was cat feces in the ceiling from the previous tenant upon move in, the brick walls leaked tons of filthy water onto the floor every time it rained, laundry was constantly broken or filled with animal hair and hallways were unkempt and smelled of smoke. Hazardous living conditions and consistently smelled damp and dirty throughout the building. Management is downright abysmal and are condescending, rude and unhelpful. On many occasions, Elaina and Ray were nasty and inconsiderate to myself and those I lived with. Issues would go on for months with no word from management and it was impossible to connect with anyone willing to help. Upon moving out, a brittle, cracked plastic parking pass was assigned a $45 "damage fee" along with other ridiculous charges. Overall, I wouldn't recommend anybody live here. Truly a horrible experience made worse by the most terrible management I have ever seen.

I love City Lofts. The leasing office is super helpful and responsive. It’s a very comfortable place to live and well-maintained with great amenities!
