Dr. Stewart was awesome to deal with! She took the time to explain what was going on with my eyes and when I left, I could see again!

Dr. Berg was very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the eye exam well and then explained the resulting prescription change & his rationale.

Very professional. They care about my family and take care of our eye care needs. Our previous doctor retired and our new doctor stepped in without missing a beat. Highly recommend.

This office is awesome! From the start the staff went to extra effort to obtain my previous records. Next the doctor really listened and recommended a different contact due to my slight eye dryness. I didn’t think I could even wear contacts anymore! What a pleasant surprise. Then, Sarah helped me pick out glasses. It was so fun and fast. I pointed out what I liked and then she pulled some that might be good also. Sarah taught me what made a frame fit my face and that just left colors to go through. Quickly I located an amazing pair. Then Sarah analyzed the best way to maximize my insurance for glasses and contacts. It is quite the science but I left feeling blessed to have found this Clarkson Eyecare office.

I’ve never gone into an optical establishment and come paying hidden fees! I ended up paying more money than I wanted to. I should’ve followed my first mind and went to Walmart Vision Center or Americas Best were the deal’s exist! All of the glass at Clarkson are over priced and if you make a hasty decision and not do your research I did today, you will get had and end up over paying for glasses. People, please gets smart about your hard earned dollars and stop paying to much for glasses!

Have been to several locations of Clarkson Eyecare and I can 100% say I won't be returning to this location. I came in because it was time for new glasses and more contacts. If I had known I was going to be swimming in a pool of sharks digging into me to spend extra money- I wouldn't have shown up. I was told that I was required to take a retna scan and that this service would cost like $40. How can you require something but charge the customer? To make matters worse, I felt pushed to buy everything from single use, more expensive contacts, different lenses for my new glasses. I was told my glasses had a warranty for a year BUT I wasn't told I had to pay for that warranty.

I work in car sales and I am around a lot of pushy people but this place has gone from an office where I wanted to come in to check the health of my eyes and vision, get new glasses and contacts.to a store where everyone is trying to force upon you to buy every single thing in the store. I spoke really highly of my experiences at Clarkson eyecare when I'd talk to friends and co workers about this place but this location has shown me that I was wrong. I cannot foresee myself coming back to this location and potentially any location at all because of this one poor experience.

Advice to this store: show up to help people, and make people happy. Not just make money.

Staff was very friendly and professional. Virus protocol was followed with equipment wiped down right then. It was my first time here and it was a very good experience.

I have been in glasses since I was in 5th grade this was my worst experience ever. Going in the first question I was asked was if I was interested in lasik, its kinda weird to be marketed for that right off the bat, but I continued with my appointment. I was brought back to do the normal stuff, to which they had a machine that checked the health of your eyes better, after asking the price, because I know these things were not often covered by insurance. I was told that if I didn't do this they would just have to dilate my pupils, which I wasn't comfortable with since I had my son and didn't want to chance my driving being impaired, so I felt forced to do the machine and pay the extra. The exam had a part that they put a dye in my eye and it hurt a lot, but it was a normal exam, the doctor was very nice. I went to check out and was then told if I didn't pay a 50.00 fee, i wouldn't be able to have my prescription, I was not made aware of this fee, when you have insurance, there is an exam, and the contacts, no hidden fees usually.when given the price of the contacts I asked if there were cheaper versions, the tech was not really interested in any suggestions, and basically gave me this is what it is. I was frustrated my eyes hurt and I was now coming up with more money than expected, I told them to just give me a six month box of contacts, to which the tech said I should do 12 and use the rest of my insurance, making me pay a little more. I came in to get my contacts, and only 6 months was there. I asked about the 12 and apparently only the 6 months was ordered because it had 12 individual contacts, while I was there, someone said if I ordered differently it was cheaper, once again not communicated to me.
And now If I ordered more it would be more money, I communicated that my experience was the worst, and not one person tried to help or make my experience better. I will never be coming back and I hope someone reads this and is able to avoid the situation I was put through. Very disappointing.

My husband and I went to the Clarkson Eyecare in South City for years so when we moved out to St. Charles, I decided to give this location a try because we never had a bad experience with the other location. Now, I regret having even tried.

I went in for my annual eye exam last October and Dr. O'Brien was great! I was not worried at all. My glasses came in a little over a week later and I went in the pick them up. When I tried them on, I knew they were not right. I told the tech that they didn't seem right and her response was that I just needed to wear them for a little bit and get used to them.which did not seem right to me either.they are glasses specifically prescribed for YOU, you should just be able to put them on and see. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because, well after all that's their job, they should know what they're doing, right?

I left the store and as I was walking to my car the distance on the glasses was so off I couldn't judge how close or far the ground was when I was stepping off the curb, I almost fell. Still, they told me there was an adjustment period so I got in the car and started driving home. After wearing them for about 45 minutes I started to get a terrible headache and nauseated. With our very busy home and work life, I wasn't able to reach back out to them for another few weeks but when I did they told me to come back in and they would take a look. Dr. O'Brien re-examined me and when I asked her what the issue was she indicated that it could have been because I was just a few months postpartum and that could have affected my first eye exam. Seemed reasonable to me so I gave her the benefit of the doubt.

A week or two later the replacement glasses came in and I picked them up and they seemed better but still not quite right. I left the store and thought I would give them a few days and see if maybe my eyes just needed to adjust to them. Once again, headaches and nausea started. I was FURIOUS. No desire to even ATTEMPT to visit this place again if they couldn't even get them right after 2 exams. My prescription from 2 years ago from the South City location felt okay so I continued wearing those glasses throughout this whole ordeal.

Fast forward to this month, this location started calling me to come in for my annual eye exam. NO WAY was I going back there. I decided to go to another small "mom and pop" optometrist office my boss recommended to me. When I went in for my eye exam last week I took the glasses I have been wearing and I took the very nice Coach glasses in that the new Clarkson had prescribed to me last year that they just could not get right. The new optometrist tested both sets of glasses. He informed me that the new set from this location was for someone that is nearsighted and have astigmatism adjustments in both lenses. I'm farsighted, the complete opposite of nearsighted and I only have an astigmatism in the left eye.not both. I almost fell out of the chair.

I ended up purchasing a nice new pair of glasses from the new optometrist and having new lenses put into the nice frames I bought from Clarkson. While I was trying on frames at the new place, I asked the girl if she could tell me how much it would cost to put prescription lenses in my RayBan sunglasses. Nothing fancy, just black lenses with UV protection. She quoted me a price of $124. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, so much in fact that I asked her to repeat the price. Last October, I asked Clarkson how much it would be to do this very same thing and the price quote was over $300! I walked out of the new optometrist's office FUMING because I felt so completely ripped off by this Clarkson location.

I will NEVER go back to this location and if you're smart, you'll think twice before even trying it.

I made my appointment online with great ease! The office staff are friendly and professional. I saw Dr. Parker Berg who was amazing. He was thorough but not pushy. He explained his recommendations for me at every step. He encouraged questions and I never felt rushed.
I would highly recommend this Clarkson Eyecare.
