Colton's Steak House & Grill reviews
15 It's been a minute since I was last here. Granted, it was before COVID and not so close to closing time (which is 9pm) but still.
Not as good as I remembered and quite disappointed because I brought my wife (our anniversary dinner). We were seated promptly but waited a good long while to order. The waitress came to our table a fair number of times but never when we needed her. By the end of the night I asked for dessert and check at the same time out of fear we might have to wait 20 minutes for the check.
As for the food, the steak (rib-eye) was good, seasoned, but I should have taken the waitress' hint (she asked if I needed A1). The last time I was here, steak sauce just wasn't needed. Portion sizes were fair relative to the price, probably just barely more than enough for most people to eat in one sitting. The dessert - hot cookie in a skillet with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Not good at all. Maybe not fair, I am probably comparing to another restaurant (bar & grill) that serves a similar dessert.
Ultimately, would I go back? If I am in the area again, maybe. I won't drive out of my way like I did this time though.
Tip and feedback for maps users: If coming from St Charles County - particularly down MO-94, do NOT USE Maps until after you get to Washington, MO. It will take you away from the main road, down several residential streets, just to dump you back on MO 100.
I had a wonderful waitress that was on top of things.even tho it was getting busy.
The steak was wonderful!
In the past, we have had good service and decent food but we've also had really bad service and food. Today's experience was a new level of bad. Service was non-existent. I ordered a beer. She came by a few minutes later to deliver water and said the beer would be there in a minute. Ten minutes later, someone came to the bar, poured my beer, placed it on the bar and walked away. Ten minutes of watching my beer and I finally got up and took it. I ordered a medium burger. It took a very long time. When she finally brought it out, it was well beyond well done. It was closer to charcoal and had a seriously burnt taste. The onion straws were cold. Our waitress stopped by twice during the entire hour and a half we were theren waiting. Lousy experience. I won't be back.
Dined 11: 15 Sunday. Staff was still cleaning and setting up. Wife order a medium cooked sirloin it was well done. I ordered a loaded baked potato that had less than a table spoon of cheese. Waitress was very sweet and friendly. Salads came after our steaks.
Let me tell you this place was amazing. The outside is clean and the building looks awesome. The inside has a western feel. The service was top notch, fast and friendly. Food was awesome, I had a steak and my wife had a burger. Let's just say we shared to experience both worlds, and Wow! Expect to pay between 10 to 20 dollars. Top end steaks slightly over 20. They have your typical drinks or a sweet collection of other adult drinks as well. Overall we will be coming back with the family and of course as date night.
Very disappointed. Colton’s used to be my favorite in the area for steak but not anymore. Last night was the 3rd time of last 4 times where I ordered a sirloin (9oz) and there was more fat and grizzle left on my plate than what I ate. The flavor was great, but if I’m paying for food it should all be edible. The baked potato was great. The side salad was ok except for some wilted romaine. I will be looking elsewhere the next time I want a steak.
Came to the area for the weekend, not our family is not from around here. We waited 30 minutes, and when we finally got seated, there were tons of tables open and many waiters to serve those tables. We got baked potato soup, when the server brought it to us, she said ‘let me know if it’s not warm enough’, hinting to the fact that it was sitting out. Got our food and the Mac n cheese was cold and dry. Ordered a 12 oz sirloin, it had to be sent back because I order medium and it came out rare. Got it sent back, the second time it came out, it was cut in half. One half was cooked to medium and the other was still rare. The service was horrible, the server sat and waited on people after us, without checking on our table.
Over priced food for gas station quality meat. Waitress was extremely rude and acted like it was a burden to wait on us.
Tonight was a busy evening for dinner time, I have to send kudos to the wait staff and support staff for working together and ensuring the customers were taken care of!
I admire your teamwork! And the food was delicious
Tried this for the first time tonight and I guarantee we will be back. Food was great and the service was even better. Denise was out server and she made the experience even better.
Good food, wide selection to choose and the service was also good. Don't live in the area, but will go back.
I love their chicken-fried chicken with white gravy. Not fancy but high on my list.
Clean, good service with a reasonable price.
Good service, the food was good only reason I gave the. A 4 was because of distance which really isn't their fault
Denise was our waitress and she was amazing. The food was fresh, hot and tasted great. Love this place.
Everything was wonderful, except the steak. This is the second time they have cooked my steak wrong. I wish the steakhouse knew how to cook a steak!
