I hate that I even have to write this bad review because I didn't want to, I try to be really nice and understanding about a lot of things, and this property actually looks really nice on the outside, plus a resident that already lives on the property recommended that I toured the inside of the property, because I am ambitiously looking for a new place. But, unfortunately, I had two terrible experiences with this property.

I set up an afternoon tour for the property, but when I showed up, no one was there to let me in the building and give me a tour, plus no one answered the office phone. I came straight there from working in the county and I was exhausted, just to have my time wasted and devalued. Then, plenty of times afterward I tried to call the office and set up another tour, but no one answered the phone any of the times I called, however your automated system keeps sending me emails asking me about my interest in the property. Unfortunately, this is not something that a generic business satisfaction email can fix either, and I know about those type of emails because I use to send those same type of emails to unsatisfied customers at my previous management job.

I am very disappointed and disheartened, my hopes were set on seeing the inside of this property, but I will have to move forward with my search for a new place. However, I feel bad for you all because you guys must be severely short staffed. If I wasn't committed to my full time manager job right now, I would definitely apply to authentically help you all, even I was the only person left working in the leasing office past a certain time, so that I could be of assistance to tenants and potential tenants and experiences like mine could be avoided.

Today I woke up in an apartment without hot water or AC, both of which management refuses to fix. I then walked down the stairs (because they refuse to fix the elevators) past piles of garbage (because they refuse to collect garbage), and past another resident in her 80s forced to do the same trip up several flights of stairs. This building is kept to third world living standards, and if there was any justice the people owning and running this place would be arrested.

Coronado Place and Towers keeps their buildings nearly uninhabitable, including no hot water, no elevators, no AC, no heating, and refusing to repair anything. They are unsafe, poorly-staffed, and management is unbelievably rude.

The worst place I have ever lived in. My AC broke down and they never fixed it. I spent an entire winter freezing and a summer sweating in extreme heat. I moved out and they never fixed anything. The parking lot is extremely unsafe, people break into cars and sometimes you get followed by creepy people. The elevators never worked and the main one broke for over a year and they never fixed it. The place is extremely dirty and smelly, the staff is extremely rude and they will never help you. I went countless times to ask about my AC and they where very rude to me. They will charge you for everything they can, for every little thing.they charge a fee for picking up your trash but the trash bags pile up in the hallway and it stinks horribly. The hot water is constantly turned off specially during the winter time and it stays like that for weeks. I spent one cold winter with no heating and no hot water. I don't know how this place is still a thing.

I used to only have a few complaints about how long it took maintenance to repair things. The elevators were lound and dirty, they often timed out. The "roof top" pool wasn't in service. The past year and a half things have gone to hell. Our service elevator started acting up. It would shake violently any time it stopped. It wasn't even properly maintained considering that it was left to break with people still inside. It wasn't even taken out of service when it was having issues. The main elevator has gone out twice this month and is going on a week out of service this time. The trash service that we pay a monthly fee for isn't being picked up due to the elevator being out of service. We haven't had consistant hot water for 10+ months. They claim it's too expensive to repair and only reset the system which will provide maybe 48 hours of hot water at a time. Trash has been left in hallways and stairwells to rot for months. Only half of our washers and dryers even work. Our locks have been broken multiple times. Maintenance is VERY slow to respond to anything. I put in a service request for my AC that was never acknowledged just submitted as completed. I had a gas leak in my stove which caused my smoke detector to go off for 2.5 hours. I asked maintenance if I should call the fire department and was told not to and they disconnected the the smoke detector instead. I didn't get a new one for weeks and it doesn't even work. You can't even talk to the office staff because the phones don't work. Some lines immediately disconnect you. Others will ring for about 2 mins before disconnecting. They will show you a very nice modern apartment on tour but the apartment are old and only "modern" in the fact that they have dishwashers. I used to recommend this place to people but now all I can say is saving a little money isn't worth the headache and trouble living here would cause. They promised many students furnished apartments for the current year and none of them had any furnishings when they came to move in. Some students were even moved to different buildings. Some full on canceled their lease. They claim to pay for internet and cable but the internet was out for months and the cable even longer. So the eminities they hype up aren't even consistant or worth renting for. They claim to have award winning customer service but you're HELLA lucky to get anyone to talk to you. They don't answer phone calls or respond to emails. We haven't even received a single communication about our elevator being out either time. Just know if you lease from here no one will care about you or any issues you have with your apartment.

Ever since my boyfriend and I moved in, we have experienced problems over and over again without them fixing any of our issues within the apartment. We moved in on august 18th and it’s been 3 weeks now, we told them about how our sprinkler system was being held by scotch tape but no one fixed it. On top of that the apartment that we toured looks nothing like the apartment we got. I have been nice and it’s just getting ridiculous at this point that none of the issues we had since day one has been fixed. They don’t have mailboxes and keys made so my mail was lost.maintenance is never in a rush to help people and there are gnats all over our floor and in the apartments. The elevator has broken down twice in the past month that I’ve lived here and the AC has also broken.

The 2 months free sounds great until you realize how bad the place is.

If you’re looking for an apartment near slu, don’t choose this one.save your time and money.i lived here from 2022-2023 and from the beginning it was horrible.the first day i moved in i was informed BY A STAFF MEMBER that my unit wasn’t supposed to be leased because it wasn’t livable.so why did they move me into this unit to begin with? The apartment floors had severe water damage, was coming up, and looked like someone had taken a sledgehammer to it.i made multiple maintenance requests about the floor and nothing was done in the whole year i was living there.no air conditioning or heat whatsoever.i made so many maintenance requests and my air conditioning still never worked.it was a solid 85 degrees in there during the summer.the parking garage was broken for MONTHS so anyone could park in there.i’ve seen multiple shattered car windows with glass everywhere, so it’s not even safe to park in the garage that you pay $50/month to park in! The building itself is so trashy and dirty.when you take a tour, they catfish you by showing you this beautiful building and this staged room, not telling you you’ll actually be living in horrible conditions.i’ve talked to many of the people that also live at coronado and they’ve all had the same awful experiences as me.it makes me feel so bad.there was always trash scattered around the whole building, which made the place smell AWFUL.i don’t think they really have a janitor for the place because the floors were always filthy, just asking for bugs and rodents.also, the front door is broken so literally anyone can get in.this is not a safe place to live at all.not to mention the absolutely RUDE staff and management this place has.people pay upwards of $1,000 to be living here and they have zero compassion if your space isn’t livable.every time i would go in to talk to one of them, they had an attitude with me off the get go.this place is an absolute scam and they take advantage of young college students.they’re so beyond money hungry it’s insane.payed rent for 12 months + a security deposit.i’ve been moved out for 2 months and still haven’t gotten the security deposit back, which is literally illegal but okay.when i went in and tried to ask about it, i was told to email someone.so that’s what i did and never got a reply back to the 2 emails i sent.i decided to go in again and the woman at the leasing office looked me dead in the face and said “what’s a security deposit? ” like how are you gonna work in a leasing office and not know? It’s laughable really.they just be hiring anyone.moral of the story, don’t choose to live at coronado.they will steal your money and make you feel stupid when you ask questions.terrible, rude, and stuck up people work here.do yourself a favor and look elsewhere when apartment hunting near slu.worst year of my life.

*WARNING*DO NOT MOVE HERE* They never answer their phones or reply to emails. My son canceled applications a month before move in date and we never heard from them until middle of September when they threatened us with legal judgment for not paying rent. We told them this must be a mistake because we canceled by email. They said per the lease there is no cancellation and we have to pay the entire lease out or find someone to take over. Terrible customer service if you can get ahold of them.
