Country Cafe reviews
13I love this place. Everyone is friendly, and you get a lot of food for a reasonable price.
We stopped in after visiting Maramec Springs. It is a very small diner and there were 9 of us and the staff was overwhelmed. The fryer was broken so our options weren't great. My pancake with strawberries and whipped cream was fine but the menu said 2 pancakes and I only got one and since it took 40 minutes to even get our order I didn't say anything. We had to wait after we got our food for silverware and napkins but like I said they were overwhelmed. The rest of our party said their food was okay although my husband got eggs that he called tiny and only a few American fries with his breakfast.
Got eggs, toast, bacon, biscuits and gravy with a hot cup of strong coffee for a song. Very tasty and so happy to have stopped by.
Our waitress was great! The food was very bland, and the biscuits appeared to be canned. The restaurant could benefit from an updating and maybe add some charm!
We stopped in for breakfast on our way home from a camping trip on a Sunday morning. Upon arrival, we were basically ignored. There is no sign telling you to seat yourself.but eventually we did. There were many tables full, but several open also. After a bit, I was a little worried that no one saw us sit down, but eventually a young waitress did come to bring us silverware and menus. She was friendly. Our drinks were brought promptly, but my husband's coffee was sitting empty for quite a while before it was refilled.and our food seemed to take a very long time. My husband ordered the "ribeye" steak, so I thought maybe that was what was taking so long. However, when it came out we were shocked to see a fatty, thin, NOT ribeye piece of meat that was so undercooked I thought it might still be frozen in the middle. He ordered it Medium Well. He began to eat the rest of his food. My omelet was ok. Nothing special. We were never checked on again. Finally, tired of waiting, we went to the register to pay and explain about the steak. Our waitress spoke with another employee who took $10 off our bill. We were thankful for that. But I don't think we'll be back.
Loved the charm of this quaint Cafe. Everyone there was so welcoming and helpful. The service and food were superb. The coffee was delicious and overall experience was great. I'll definitely be recommending this Cafe to other friends and family.
What a great place. If your looking for a real all beef burger and fantastic onion rings this is where you want to be. Oh did I mention the awesome HOMEMADE coconut cream pie.
Awesome flowers and hummingbirds on the porch, we watched them while we ate our excellent meal. People were friendly the owner has had it over 30 years. An awesome place to eat.
First time here and the food was wonderful. Unfortunately service was not as great. Our waitress did not bother to come check on us to see if we needed anything and I did not receive my toast until after I finished my meal when I got up and had to ask for it.
My mom's favorite place to eat. Great atmosphere if you enjoy the laid back country life style of living.
Great little cafe! My husband and I were traveling and ran across this place so we stopped in for a quick breakfast. The waitress was very sweet and friendly. She sat us quickly, took our order and our drinks were brought immediately. The food arrived hot, exactly what we ordered and was delicious. And my husband's coffee cup was kept full the whole time. If we ever pass through St James again, we will be back!
Absolutely love this place. Family friendly! The staff is cheerful and very clean! These days it is hard to find a place that you can sit down with your family and friends, and enjoy a meal!
Had breakfast and it was fantastic! Chickens fried steak with over medium eggs was cooked to perfection. Waitress and chef was friendly and helpful.
