Dereninger Film Camera Repair reviews
9 Cranky elderly woman who was feeble but inappropriately rude.
They do NOT work on digital cameras and could offer (uninterested) in helping.
Hope they’ve made money because their front end to clients is abysmal.
I wanted to give this place a chance. I really did. I’ve seen the bad reviews but I also saw the good ones and knew of other film photographers who got their cameras serviced here. However, for the 5 months my camera was there, it wasn’t fixed, there was no communication, and my lens was lost. I would have to call every month for an update and I was always hit with a reply “Oh it’s tough, I’m still working on it” until one day I got the response “Oh I gave up”. So why didn’t you call? Why did I have to call you? You had my Canon F1 for almost half a year and you didn’t fix and you lost the lens that went with it. I should’ve just shipped it to a larger repair store in another state. I would advise you to do the same if you really care about your equipment.
Called to inquire a question and the woman on the phone was very rude and unhelpful. Seemed as if she was laughing at my question because I called regarding a digital camera even though I was unsure if she’d know anything to help since the shop does involve camera repair
Called and the wife was rude as she could be.i know they are a film camera shop and i have a digital ccamer but she started yelling NO NO NO NO NO on the phone be fore icould aask a question. My D90 has simple brass clouser swtich i was looking for advice about.they might even have advice about it but they were too rude and uninterested to even hear the question.
NOT RECOMMENDED.after this experience I wont even take the my film cameras.if i could leave a negative review i would completely uncalled for
Old hag was more concerned with smoking her cigs than being friendly when she scream at me through the outside door ‘what do ya want? ’ And don’t bother bringing in a digital camera…cuz ‘he only works on film and is backed up several months’ she screeches at me…
Better wear a mask or the old hag that answers the door will have a hissy fit, despite the fact that it's been proven repeatedly that masks are useless.
Had to call and check on my camera after a month. Said they didn't get around to calling me. They did get it fixed in a few days after that though. Went to pick it up on a Saturday and the person that answered the door was not friendly and didn't know how to even find my camera. I had to go in and find it myself the person threw a fit about me not having a mask. I would have just stayed out in the hallway if they could have found my camera themselves.
I have taken all my film cameras to Dereninger for literally decades and have never been disappointed. They are precise, professional and prompt. I wouldn’t take my film cameras anywhere else.
Outstanding business. Archie, the owner, is very responsive to the needs of his customers. Bravo!
