Dr. Robert Greiner II - Orthopedic Surgeon at Greiner Orthopedics, Independence MO

I was recommended this place by diagnostic imaging center after i broke my arm, i got x rays done at discover vision center and they sent them over to Dr. Robert Greiners office, I went to Dr. Robert Greiners office after making an appointment, check in lady was very nice she asked for insurance, at the time I didn't have insurance and was paying out of pocket which was no problem for me, I'm not sure if this swayed the way my visit went or not. I waited about 30 minutes before being taking to a room in the back, Dr. Roberts comes in about ten minutes later and sits down with me and explains to me that he received the images from diagnostic imaging center and tells me that i was lucky because the bone was set perfectly back in place, he said he recommend a follow up visit in a couple weeks and that i could basically just go home and not come back for a re visit so i wouldn't have to pay again because the arm was set back in place. I still had the molding on from the emergency room, not even a cast, not sure if they do those there, but basically I paid around 350-450$ cash up front for a 20 minute visit, not sure exact amount, he didn't take any new x rays just looked at the ones sent over from diagnostic imaging center, didnt ask about pain or how I felt about the visit he left rather quickly and I had to ask a nurse if I could get some pain medication and she yelled it out so loud I'm sure the whole office could hear her saying that I was asking for pain medication, would not ever go back here even with insurance.

The Dr was amazing! Very thorough and knowledgeable but the front office staff, not so much. There’s a certain couth you should have when dealing with people who help support your business and in turn keep you employed. You could hear how they talked about clients that called in after they hung up with them and made fun of them, mocked them or were very belittling in tone and manner. My turn would shortly be next. My insurance (s) had and still have issues with who is to pay what and when and when they called to verify I gave them both and she said “it’s not my job to verify your insurance or your coverage, I just have to note your account that I called so I can send it to collections. ” So as a person who has not one but two insurances, both said they sent request for information to them so they could identify who would be primary and as of months later just a credit hit but still no verification. It’s sad because I work at and in the office at a large employer and have made sure to not refer anyone or give good reference, solely based on the lack of respect I witnessed and received. It’s sad because the Dr is so friendly, knowledgeable and patient. But no one should be subject to snide staff.

Didnt even examine me, nor tell me what x-rays said. Nurse practitioner came in with pile of papers, exercises. I'm 73. Was completely disappointed with this highly rated Dr. Will not be returning. Wrote a prescription I won't be picking up. A total waste of my time, and money. DONT FALL FOR IT. I Was NOT EXAMINED UNLESS RAISING UR ARMS UP AND LOWERING THEM CONSIST OF AN EXAM. I will take my review off when and if I hear personally from the Doctor as why he sat in chair and never laid a finger on me or discussed extras. The response to my review is BULL. After posting my review I received a call the following morning at 9: 30am. Saying very nastily " We are very disappointed in your review" from NP. Balls in your court.

Dr. Greiner's office is the definition of a bait and switch operation. They provided clear expectations that the gel injections I was going to receive was covered by insurance and the only cost to me would be the office copay. Based on their communication and expectations I proceeded with the injections. They are now claiming that I owe them $530.55. They confirmed and admitted that they did indeed set the expectation that the only out of pocket expense would be the office copay for each injection. What makes this even more disgusting is I inquired what the cost would be for a friend without insurance and they said it would be $150 per injection. Now, after collecting $150 in copays from me, they insist I still owe $530.55. They are a scam! Run away from Dr. Greiner Orthopedics!

Dr. Grenier replaced both knees and I had no problems. It just takes doing what you're told to be successful.

If I could give Dr. Greiner 6 Stars, I would. He has performed shoulder surgery on my wife including replacement, and has addressed chronic knee and lower back pain with me. He’s professional in every sense of the word, we’re confident in his skills, and he has met our needs beyond expectations. Great bedside manner and is encouraging during the healing process. Thank you, Dr. Greiner II.

Dr Greiner has been my Ortho for lots of years but the relationship and care he provides never ceases to amaze me. Due to an insurance mess up a surgery I had scheduled on a Thursday had to be cancelled. Dr Greiner arranged for the surgery the following day on Friday even though it was his 1/2 day. Going above and beyond to make sure it could be completed when my wife and I had already taken off work. You don’t normally find a Dr that will rearrange his schedule to accommodate you.

Greiner orthopedics are professional, kind and caring starting with the front desk, to the nurses and Dr Greiner himself. I like the organization of this office compared to other physician offices where you are waiting for 45 min to an hour to see the doctor. Unfortunately bad knees run in my family, so I see him off and on and I have received surgery and other times he has offered alternatives if i don’t want surgery. I trust his advice on treatment of my knees. Not only has he helped me, and my son, I have also recently taken my elderly mother in law in for the gel injections for osteoarthritis and they are working for her so she can walk better again.

Dr. Greiner has treated multiple members of my family and cared for us all as if we were his own. Always professional, attentive and thorough. Love the office staff as they always greet me with a smile and get me checked in quickly.
