El Caporal Mexican Restaurant, Camdenton MO

This place is fantastic. The service is exceptional, the food arrives quickly and is always savory. The menu includes well known favorites and some items not usually offered, like Caldo de Pollo. Yummy!

Arrived at 3: 45. Sat until 4: 15 and hadn’t even been asked what we would like to drink. We watched as two tables (one with about 12 people) that walked in 15 minutes after us had been given there drinks and had there orders taken.
We reminded them we were there and they still forgot about us. Typical El Caporal service. We walked out about 40 minutes after arriving and went to Ixtapa and had our food 10-15 minutes after walking in.

Very surprised looks very small on the outside but has a lot of room on the inside, don't be deceived there was no waiting when we got there and the food was fantastic we should be back. Chips are fresh salsa was topped off all the time and the food tastes great didn't take long to get it either. So if you're in the Camden area or cruising through stop on in and enjoy some good food.

Thanks for putting up with our mildly raucous mini family reunion today. We made it a challenge for our server to do his thing but he did an admirable job. Antonio, thanks!

I normally only read reviews but don’t write one, unless of course something is very bad. This is one of those times.

My first time trying el Caporal I had the fajitas, the meat was bad and the overall taste was very bland. I only ate part of it.

The next time I had the enchiladas. The tortilla was soggy like it had been sitting in water for a while and the sauce was gross. To their credit the chips and salsa were good and the people working there were very nice. Everything else was bad.

If you are looking for good Mexican food in Camdenton this is not it.

The food was so bland! Zero flavor. Both of our meals were & salt didn't help, even the guacamole, salsa. The shredded Chicken was so dry, couldn't swallow it. Blah!

The service was great and food was really good. They had a special going on with $0.99 margaritas so you can't go wrong there. Definitely going back.

Only my second time to eat here. First experience was good. This time major disappointment in food. Service however was speedy. I got the Burrito Fajita $11.99 with chicken for meat. After wondering when I was going to taste the chicken I opened it up and there was MAYBE only a tablespoon of chicken. The tortilla was a rubbery texture also. Awful and waste of money. The small appetizer guacamole dip $3.99 was fresh and good. The small cheese dip also $3.99 was so thin it didn’t stay on chips.

Excellent customer service.

I really like the portions, white cheese dip could use some spice, but was still good. Beans and rice were perfect. Not to dry, not to runny. My chicken burrito Jelesco was ssooo good. My only thought is to pair guacamole and sour cream with it to make it out of this world. I borrowed some of both from my daughter and mother-in-law. Superb.
