Elite Pain Management and Recovery Centers, Springfield MO

I can’t say enough positive things about Elite Pain Management. The staff is friendly from the minute I walked in the door, my waiting time has always been short and the interns and doctors are amazing. They don’t rush through the appointments and they answer all my questions I may have. My life is becoming more active with the help of this great staff.

The initial charge for my first visit 11/2022 came to $400 insurance covered $45.77 but they charged $217 still A LOT more than I could afford or was expecting. Finally got it paid 6 months later & will contact them to see how much the "nerve block" procedure will cost. Will update.
Everyone was very nice & professional, Dr worked with me on pulling up my MRI results from Cox website.

Update- they said because it's been 6 months (by DAYS) since my office visit I'll have to come in again to get the procedure.

Was able to verify that the follow up office visit will have a $70.00 copay due
The procedure as stated previously applies to my 2023 deductible & is expected to be $227.95 not doing it because of the risk vs reward statistics from what I've researched.

They are liars and lie thru your initial meeting in order to cut you off your medication after 22 years and not caring. They signed my death certificate. Very abusive

The staff were very courteous and Dr. Tonkin was very knowledgeable of the Spinal Cord Stimulator! I feel that my quality of life will improve under their care!

It was awesome the stimulator worked great. I cried when they took it out hopefully they don't take long but another one in. Cause I loved it and I felt that good in a long time. The nurse is great And Laura was fantastic. The stimulator really really work.the fantastic.

My first appointment with this place, and I was given another patients paperwork, when I said this isn't mine the person at front desk said I can't believe the doctor did that. Then I was told they pretty much won't help with pain meds, they push surgery that I don't want at this time as I don't have a support system, I have to work. I got the feeling that this place is all about the money. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. Iwontbegoing back. I've already found another doctor who is helping me to stay working. This place is unprofessional!

Didn’t do anything to stop pain wanted you to have a get off pills and get a nerve blocker in a quick as possible so they could get money from the nerve blocker system

I’ve had a great experience with Elite Pain Management and Dr. Tonkin. They helped me do a Spinal Cord Stimulator trial and then coordinated the procedure with Abbott.

This office has improved from past experiences.
Shout out and Kudos to the. MA/PA/Nurse? Chris. He was patient, personable, and kind throughout our appointment. The field needs 1,000 more like him. The Doc Amanda was also kind and considerate.

More of a controlled dope syndicate with a Greyhound bus terminal lobby. Parking is NOT handicap friendly, and unless it has been upgraded.no handicap door assist opener. You are degraded and made to feel like a junkie. This is a last resort place if you are looking for help in managing pain.

I’m trying to figure out why this practice thinks it is more important than all of its patients? This is the third appointment I waited over an hour to be seen. Today, I called prior to see if they were running on time - I was told yes. I checked into my appt on time and saw the waiting room full. I asked the receptionist (this was the second time today I asked…) if they were running on time. She said they were a little behind but I was the doctor’s next patient. Okay fine. Over an hour later, I was called to the exam room. I have been sitting here another hour (now two hours past my appt time)! I opened the door and asked the staff how much longer until I am seen - she said I am the next patient (hell, I was the next patient two hours ago!). She then said, we understand about it being behind. Uh, no she absolutely does not.

For all these reviews mentioning Dr. Strankmeyer - he is no longer here. This will be my last appointment here. Respect goes both ways. If I showed up two hours late - would I be seen? We know the answer to that. This practice and its inconsiderate staff can all pound sound.

Dr Stanckmeyer is no longer here. He was the glue, seems the place is falling apart. They will not call you back, I found this out while waiting for a surgeon referral, which is now been overridden by Dr tatokin, who previously only did the nerve block and injection procedures. Nurse practitioner will be who you see at this time and I've seen them all, they have different advice each time. Would not recommend, I've been going every two weeks, with 30 days med appt and procedures for six months. With the recent events, I'm left without a referral and nothing more they can do for me. Waste of time and money.

Well first of all I was coming in to have some results from a MRI and it was done a week ago and they didn't have any results yet. Also they charged me a copay of 50.00 dollars to take my vitals and give me pain pills and sent me on my way. Someone should have checked to see if my results were there cuz I also had to drive there. Very disappointed ️

Not all medications work the same on all people. Failure to use all the medication's at your disposal is a failure to tend your patient and you should resign your practice.

Dr Strankmeyer no longer works here. That’s the only reason I stayed. Wait times are ridiculously long - every time. I asked the desk why they can’t call when they are hours behind. She laughably said they don’t have time. They don’t have time to make a two minute call, but I have enough time to wait 2 hours? Ok. Going to find somewhere else.

This place is a total cash scam. Got an appt and decided not to go with their service. And they still charged me over 500$ what a scam just trying to make tons of money off people insurance. Definitely will not be paying the fee.

This place is extremely unprofessional. It started out okay. But I quickly began to notice the lack of response to phone calls from me when I was having major issues. The pharmacy would call leaving urgent messages and I was unable to get my medications on multiple occasions, leaving me suffering severe withdrawals for days. My PCP’s office covered me over Christmas or I would have suffered through Christmas either in the hospital or having withdrawals. They accused me of failing a drug test I did not fail. 100% I have always been compliant and honest. I have worked in the medical profession my entire life and do not take my medications in ways I should not and Dr Stranckmeyer and his staff made me look like the bad guy after I brought up anything concerning my issues with them. I experienced nothing but more pain and frustration after coming to Elite Pain Management and I will never go back. I will be reporting them to the Missouri Medical Board for medical neglect and endangerment, anyone else that has not been able to get their meds and has gone through withdrawals as a result should do the same. It’s not okay and needs to stop happening.

You forced to sign a contract and if you want to be tortured this is the place for you. If you miss an appointment and run out of medicine too bad. If you have to do telemedicine visit and they can't get it to work too bad. And if you disagree with their treatment plan they threaten you with dropping from their program.

Missed one procedure had to call to reschedule said I had to come back up there so we could do that reschedule cuz of my insurance had an appointment at 4: 15 nurse didn't come in till 5: 10 talked for 5 minutes and that they're not going to write my pain medicine they was going to wing me off them and I said well I thought this is what this appointment was for to reschedule to get procedure done this place is a joke

There is something wrong with the system maybe need to expand get more help.
Was so frustrated.
