Family Vision Center reviews
13Very pleased with how the staff help u and very courteous. Andrew has been very helpful anytime I went in.great job.
This place is the best place to go for your eyes! I have been going here since 2015 and I love it, the staff is friendly and definitely makes you feel at home! Andrew is the best for sure he made me feel better about my social anxiety and didn't make it worse he worked with me around it! I highly recommend family vision center!
Hands down the best place to get your eye exams, contacts and eye glasses! Both Dr. Remi and Dr. James are exceptional and the office staff is amazing! From the time you enter the door to the time you leave it is always all smiles and they make you feel like family!
I would not go back to this place. They can't seem to work things out with my insurance and get me the correct glasses after waiting 6 1/2 weeks for a replacment pair. If I could i'd give them a negative review.
My wife and I both strongly agree that we don’t recommend anyone coming here for Medicaid frames. That’s all we have to say on this matter family vision center.
They accept the following insurance:
Versant/Davis- Ford and GM retiree; Fed blue
Eyemed/Aetna
Vsp- Cigna, Guardian, Metlife
They don't accept metlife thru Superior
Medicaid
-Home state health
-United Healthcare
-Healthy blue
Medicare replacements, not medicare
Spectera (United Healthcare)
Some but not all local Unions
This was the worst experience ever. I've been wearing glasses for 60 years. I get my new glasses and I see better with my old ones. I ask the bloodsugarsDr. What's up with that? ? She wants to blame it on my blood sugars. Really. I've never noticed my vision changing because of that. Sounds plum crazy Won't be back
I love it here, however the past 2 years the prescriptions that have been given to my husband and I caused serious eye strain and migraines I have had to return to my old prescription each time. I'm not sure why this happens? Because my daughters prescription was fine. No I haven't gotten back to them about it. I just thought it may have been a typo or something. I'm going to try again here in a few months when my prescription is due to compare the two, if they are way off again i'll let them know there.
I have had glasses for over 67 years, very strong prescription. Faye and James are the two best techs I have ever had, Dr Remi is great. Last year was my first visit here, I love my new glasses, I am definitely going to be a customer for a long time.
The eye doctor is always friendly. Is Hit or miss, whether staff is very helpful or to busy to help. It is a nice place to go. They have a good selection of frames. They keep it clean. Prices run average with other places.
I’ve been coming to Family Vision Center for many years even when I lived here years ago. I had just moved back to Excelsior going on two years ago. I tried to call for an appointment this morning and I didn’t catch the girls name, but to me she sounded very rude and acted like she didn’t want to help me. I was trying to get a contact lens exam set up as soon as I could as I am leaving the area on January 25th and will not return til February 8. She was telling me about a fitting fee of $40 which my insurance has always covered by taking it out of my alotted allowance every year. I never have been anywhere else where a fitting fee is charged either. 2021 was the first I had ever heard of it but was told my insurance would cover it. I have $700 to spend a year for eyeglasses and contacts or whatever was needed and she’s telling me that insurance won’t cover it if I order contacts that aren’t covered or something to that nature. She didn’t sound very professional when she was explaining it to me telling me I have to contact my insurance when it’s not my responsibility. I know what my plan covers, it’s obvious to me that she didn’t know. I plan on keeping my eyeglasses as a backup just in case. I’m possibly at looking to going somewhere else unless we can come to some kind of solution. Still would like to make an appointment but it’s not my responsibility to call my insurance. That girl needs to learn a little more about customer service, you don’t cut someone off when they are trying to explain the situation.
So far so good! Convenient waiting times, nice selection, doctor professional and kind… I switched from my old doctor of 25 years because she quit there and I’m picky!
