Fareway Meat Market & McGonigle's KC BBQ, Kansas City MO

Yesterday while I was shopping at the store I observed the men clerk drop a fillet mignon on the floor, wipe it off and still gave it to the customer. I will never shop here again. I loved this market but after seeing that I'm done.

Tastiest sandwiches with lots of meat. They know how to do meat. Meat case is fabulous and a very busy place everyone buys not just looking.

Great selection of meats and seafood. Fair pricing and friendly staff. Has the small town market feel. Lots of barbecue seasonings and rubs as well as wood and charcoal.

Service is pretty good, staff behind the counter are helpful but the prices are way too high

It's the first time I've been into Fareway meat market since it was McGonigles. I was there to buy cod at the meat counter. A man asked if he could help me. I told him I would like to buy some cod so we both went over to the fish counter. He didn't ask how much I wanted so I just told him what I would like. He very impatiently weighed out the fish and wrapped it. He then proceeded to basically throw it across the counter. I complained to the manager about the treatment I received and his excuse was, "we're busy. " I said that's not a good excuse. Not good enough. I'll think twice about coming back into that store!

Don't buy their bacon wrapped filets you get more connective tissue than meat and the "steaks" all came in at least 3 pieces I was purchasing steaks not stew meat.will not be shopping there again.

As much as I hate to say this since it's changed from McGonagall's they are nowhere near the same.the meat's not seasoned this is the most bland pulled pork sandwich I've ever eaten in my life.

Market is killer. Love it. You will not be disappointed. Food camper kid though…. Really? This pic was taken 10 seconds after sitting down at the picnic tables. Tasty, but c’mon, man!

Far and away a great neighborhood meat market and grocery store. The barbecue is to die for. Ample parking ada accessable.

A brisket sandwich for $11 was insufficient. The beef was dry and tasteless.
The staff was incompetent and rude. On today’s economy, if you keep providing this kind of service, you’re finished.
Mcgonigle’s was better.

I enjoy stopping there on ocassions when Im in the area, the meats are tasty, and I also like a few of the salads.

A definite go to for all bbq spices and ribs! Fresh meat selection is quality and fresh deli meats and salads are delicious too!

Great selection of meats! I purchased a lb of Brisket for $20/lb and there was zero fat on it. It resembled the taste and texture of cardboard. Very disappointed. I am use to melt in your mouth, juicy, amazing, bursting with flavor brisket that my Father smokes. I was missing him so much that I thought this would make me less home sick for my Father's grilling. I was absolutely dead wrong.

I also purchased a couple bacon wrapped sirloin and they were delicious. Great cuts of meat and I love the toothpick they use to secure the bacon. We tried the steakhouse bacon wrapped pinwheels, they were good. We purchased a couple of the spinach pinwheel and going to try those tonight.

Extremely helpful staff! Very good selection, my only wish is that there was a better selection of oxtail (only frozen, high priced available)

Pre ordered Christmas Turkey (with order number). On the day of collection. Sorry we sold it. Didn't even say sorry. Staff said those are the breaks.
