First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site reviews
8Well preserved 2 story log structure on well kept and interesting grounds, including several gardens.
Very interesting and filled with lots of artifacts. We paid for a guided a tour and learned a lot of new information. Levi was very kind to my two children and gave tons of information about the building/Missouri. Would highly recommend.
This is located in the historical downtown of st Charles. It's very pretty and picturesque, there are a lot of really cool cafes and bars as well as some beautiful vintage shops and jewlwery stores. I love the setting because it reminds me of England. The surrounding area is also fantastic as there are so many other antique shops and beautiful buildings to see. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel nostalgic and magical. Also parking is free and pretty accessible:)
Very interesting tour of the 1st Missouri state capital. The original brick buildings have recreated state Senate and House meeting rooms and the Governor's office. The trade store downstairs has several animal pelts on display to show the type of goods brought in from the frontier.
I really like the Missouri State Parks store. I went today 3/16/2021 and the store is not currently open for walk in traffic because of the pandemic. It looked like you can order thinks online and pick them up. I hope they open back up soon.
This was very cool. We had an amazing guide and we all learned a lot. Social distencing was maintained and everyone was wearing masks
Amazing educational history lesson! We went on the tour with Linda and she brought history to life. I could have listened to her for a whole day. This was our first field trip of our new homeschool journey. Linda made it an experience we will always remember. Thank you!
There is a lot of history that was made in the St. Charles area. Missouri's first state capital was in St. Charles until the Capital in Jefferson City was completed. Lindenwood college has a lot of early St. Charles history. Enjoy your time in St. Charles.
