UNSAFE complex with no security. Cars are constantly broken into, once weekly or more often. Once I was shot at outside by some juveniles with an airsoft gun, nothing improved regarding safety after reporting this issue. Utilities are also up charged, they are not directly related to your unit, but the entire building. Ownership here does not care about residents. After moving out an extra $100 of fees were added, with an explanation of being “backdated”. Highly advise choosing another building/complex to live at.

My partner and I lived here for about a year. In the beginning, we loved it, we loved being so close to downtown. The apartment itself was lovely, and the amenities were well-maintained. However security is lacking, theft in the mailroom, dog urine, and feces always in the elevator, and the entire time we were living here our car was broken into 6 times. When concerns were brought to the office staff it wasn’t taken seriously and it was frustrating. The parking is horrible you pay so much money to park and there is no security whatsoever.  They rent out to Air BnB and the Air Bnb guest don’t respect the apartment and are super loud.  Since Alex left his position in the office this place is going downhill fast. Once our lease was coming up we knew we didn’t wanna renew. There are way better “luxury” apartments near downtown.

I’ve been living in flashcube 2 years.as I get ready to leave some things I have noticed. Super loud a lot of air bnb’s, walls are super thin so you definitely hear every noice and last but not least my car was broken into twice! And my packages have been stolen out of mailroom. And every single time I had an incident office/ management never could help or always would throw out they are not responsible! Nice amenities though. I give it 2stars

Have lived here for a year now. “Luxury” is a very strong word. About once a month there is dog feces or urine in a hallway/elevator that gets left for days sometimes. The maintenance people live on site, but are lazy. Brandon the head guy has actually called me before to inform me that bodily fluids don’t qualify as an emergency, and someone would clean it eventually. Since Alex and Alisa left their positions in the office, this place is going downhill fast. There’s no one on staff here who cares. The Airbnb guests run the place, and leave it in any condition they choose. Residents aren’t valued as much as weekend-only guests.

One other note, when we moved in here there was a person monitoring the front desk (at least on week days). It felt more like luxury to be greeted by someone, and to feel a bit secure in that not just anyone was going to walk past the desk into the building. They have since let that position go, so now there is just an empty desk in the front lobby. Luxurious.

The Flashcube is a great place to live! My husband is a wheelchair user; therefore, we were in search of an ADA apartment. We are very pleased with our 1 bedroom ADA, and the management and staff are the BEST…very accommodating, friendly, and helpful!:)

IMPORTANT EDIT: this building rents out its rooms to Airbnb frequently meaning that there is a constant influx of strangers in and out of the building. The downstairs and basement area are also rented out to a service called PlexPod which, again, attracts a lot of strangers who do not reside in the building. Considering how much access Flashcube gives to strangers, you would think they would have better security but there is none for the building. Staff also needs to make prospective tenants aware of this when touring which they do not. From a safety standpoint, PLEASE be cautious if seriously considering renting here.

Rooms are cheap and the layout is odd. Bedrooms don’t have any windows and the appliances in unit are outdated (fridge, stove etc are all old) Shared amenities are ok (gym is bare bones but the basketball/pickle ball court is nice). Frequent issues with key fobs and the elevators breaking. Faculty is nonexistent. There IS a door person but they are either hanging out with friends by the front desk or not around. You are never greeted nor will they open the door for residents (I’ve lived at many high rise buildings and this building has the worst staff manners by far). I have missed out on at least 3 important packages due to no one being at the front desk to sign for them (during open hours no less). The mailing system is hit or miss, you have to pay a subscription for ParcelPending or you can’t receive packages. Definitely not a luxury building but likes to advertise as one. Also, lots of homeless people like to hang around the building and there is no security. Rent elsewhere if you can.

Lived here for a 14 month period. Never could have both hear and A/C working at the same time. Only temporary fixed for whichever one I needed for the day (heat or A/C) This was by far thee Worst decision and experience I’ve ever had renting. They will penny pinch you for everything & I overall was not valued as a resident during this entire term. They have Airbnb here every night with Airbnbers having little to no regard or respect for the residents. They have access to everything just as residents do so why not just live in a hotel? This experience was much closer to feeling like a hotel than a home. Well at least hotels have overnight security.

My wife and I lived here for a year. It was a good first place for us in downtown KC, and the staff is absolutely amazing, but the property has some large drawbacks.

Pros: Good amenities, large windows that let in lots of sunlight, workspace on the main level and lower level. The location of the property is great, being right on the street car stop, and a close walk to City Market. The appliances were good quality and the washer and dryer were enormous (in a good way) compared to other in-apartment options.

Cons: There are many Air BnB and similar such apartments. This allows people that have very little incentive to be kind to neighbors onto the property, often it will feel more like a hotel than a home. Nearly every weekend a new group of people will be trying to check into the dozens of short-term rental The parking security is non-existent and is a constant problem. In the 12 months we lived there, we had to report someone parking in our paid parking spots 47 times. There is almost no private outdoor spaces on the property (By private I mean for those that live in the building).

If you are looking for mid-level low security housing, this could be your place. However if you are willing to pay a little bit more there are better options in the downtown KC area.

We have been living here for one month. The staff is fantastic, especially Alex. The outstanding amenities provide the best work, play, and relaxing environment. The unit is well-designed, with plenty of storage space and intelligent appliances. I love the ability to adjust lighting from the smartwatch on my wrist. Squeezing a few power hours between family commitments and friends is a breeze, thanks to the PLEXPOD coworking space. I strongly recommend FLASHCUBE to those looking for a flexible working-living solution in the heart of Kansas City.

I love it here at Flashcube! Working with Alex in the leasing office when trying to find my apartment was easy. He was knowledgeable, professional, and provided excellent service! I’ve been here a couple months now and the staff puts on fun social gatherings in the club house like PPV events and parties. The apartment home amenities are very modern and clean and the community itself has great perks. I have had nothing but compliments from my friends who have visited. It’s a convenient location downtown and peaceful area I recommend Flashcube to anyone who is looking for a new home!

We have recently moved to the Flash Cube, and we could not be more happy! Alex and the team in the leasing office have been so helpful and kind from the very beginning with our initial tour, they answered countless questions, and helped facilitate moving logistics with our POD. Our pod driver even called us after the successful drop off to tell us how friendly and accommodating the staff were! If you're looking for luxury living in an ideal location full of friendly people- look no further than The Cube!
