Foo's Fabulous Frozen Custard reviews
15Fun. Treats are great. A hundred combos written on a large Chalk board or make up your own. Great atmosphere and cool owner.
I have always loved Foo's. The owner must have a bad experience during masking and I am sorry my kidding upset her. Too bad.
Was good but expensive. Wish there was also Chocolate an not just vanilla. The lady was very nice an polite. Cute place, in a great area of other places.
The base custard is the best I've ever tasted! I'm not a huge ice cream fan, so I was gonna just have a bite off my sister's and call it good. Oh no- it was too good! I bought my own, then when we were done we went back for seconds! Betty the owner is super fun too! She helped me come up with a perfect flavor combo that will be my go to from now on! Thanks Betty!
When friends, coworkers or family have asked what I like best about living where we live, I've typically responded: "Well, first off, we're within easy walking distance to Foo's Fabulous Frozen Custard in Beautiful Brookside. "
I'm not kidding. Not every time. But more often than not, that's been the start of my response.
So here's why:
Yeah, the custard concretes & sundaes are, as foretold on the awning, Fabulous. But, more importantly, it's a neighborhood operation, an integral part of and phenomenon made possible by Beautiful Brookside. And that matters because it manifests itself in the way this place provides first jobs to young people who live near it, in the way its walls are decorated, in the way its products are chosen and presented, in the way it draws neighbors together.
So, about those custards: Everything starts as vanilla. How it goes from there is up to you: choose the ingredients you'd like to add or pick a "proven favorite" from combinations previously concocted and named by the employees and customers who came before you. You'll find these described on the blackboard that covers the north wall.
The choice is yours. Choose wisely.
Tastes good poorly put together services is ok if you are looking for desert there is better places
The texture is kind of addictive. The flavor names and decor are really fun. Chairs are slip-proof and plus-sizes friendly. Only. 25 complaint is the floors need a bit of help.
Pricey, but what isn't anymore. A bit crowded if you want to sit inside, but service and custard is good.
We had dinner close by and went here to grab a treat on March 30th. There were three young men working there. I wish I had their names to give them a shout out. One of them had seen that a woman left her purse outside the shop on the bench and brought it in to keep it safe. The lady came back for it about 15-20 minutes later after discovering she had left it somewhere (she looked a bit inebriated). She quickly said thanks and scurried away. Shout out to the employees here for being honest and diligent.
The best around. Man is it addicting, I go with the straight custard and top with cherries or black cherries. Just get the custard alone and you'll see how good it is.
Foo’s has been a go to since I was in college at UMKC. I love that they have a huge variety of flavors all year round (I’m looking at you eggnog and pumpkin spice) and flavor combo suggestions on the wall. Their custard is creamy and thick, and the customer service is sweet. One of our favorite places to bring people for a sweet treat!
My favorite ice cream place. They are fast and friendly. Love the option of mix your own ice cream and they use real fruits.
My grandmother used to bring me here as a little kid. Now 20+ years later it's still the best frozen custard I've ever had
Ice cream melted before we could barely pay for it. If we had ordered a shake.it would have been okay. Too expensive for Soupy cream
