4Great trail with lots of ascents and descents. There are trails in the area more scenic than this one, but this is a great trail for workout runs.
BEWARE of TICKS! Our dog’s legs were covered in seed ticks after our hike on Aug 30,2020.
Otherwise hike was great. Good shade, nice elevation changes. Few crowds.

Fantastic trail, super well maintained. The trail itself is quite intense, and the views are a long way from the trailhead, so come for a workout or expect a workout if you're coming for a view.
A beautiful example of this region's hardwood forests. From the parking lot, the trail starts with a 150+ foot incline to the top of a ridge. You can also start off-trail by following a small creek up the valley with the main Fox Run trail off to your right. This creek feeds into the larger Fox Creek stream system of the area. The Rockwood Range pamphlet says that this area has been designated as an Important Bird Area (IBA) by the Audubon Society, so bring your camera and binoculars! Some invasive honeysuckle can be found here, which, ideally, should be managed.
