Full Moon Escape

Visited here for a Christmas experience since our group loves all things spooky. We picked The Beast Tool Room and escaped with 10 minutes to spare (and used one hint).

First, it super cool getting to go to The Beast haunted house building to get to the escape rooms. It really sets the tone for the experience and we loved getting to appreciate such an old building in the day light. The younger gentleman that was working this day was great! He was very friendly, seemed to really enjoy working here, and did a great job explaining everything to us. The 6 of us were taken to our escape room and got our briefing. The room was a lot of fun and took some real brain power on some of the puzzles. Without any spoilers, the room was exciting, had some fun moving pieces, and we all had such a fun time.

Now, all that said, this is my 7th or 8th escape room I have done. This one has some difficulty with solving certain puzzles but overall, I felt it was kind of on the easier side. I felt it needs a few more puzzles to actually solve because even though it took us 50 of the allotted 60 minutes, I don't feel like we actually solved "that" many puzzles. I was also hoping for maybe a little bit more of décor and stuff like that. I think some other rooms I have been to really put you into a more immersive experience. I definitely want to come back and try their hardest room (s). But overall, it was a blast and our group had a terrific time. But I think for the price we paid, I was hoping to be a little more impressed.

Love escape rooms and this place doesn't disappoint. Varying difficulty levels with the rooms and being inside The Beast Haunted House gives a little spookiness! Will keep returning to do every room!

This was my 2nd trip to your escape rooms. I came the 2nd time to introduce a new group of friends. Unfortunately, this experience was not as enjoyable as my first. When we first got there & rang the bell, we were told to come back 20 minutes later (after we were expressly told to be 15 minutes early) through the intercom system. (it was raining) We went next door to Chef J's. They were courteous enough to extend their hospitality and get us out of the rain. After eating, one of the employees let us go through the interior door into The Beast lobby area. When I called Emily to let her know that we had returned & that we were on the inside of the building, she immediately started to berate me for being inside the building without being let in by her. While I understood her confusion about how we may have gotten into the building, she was completely out of line. Once I apologized, she continued her tirade. By the time I cut her off, one of my friends was ready to leave. I calmed her down. Then, Emily showed up, on the upper landing, and began to berate us ALL. I fired back as politely as possible - to no avail. Ms. Emily continued until I cut her off. Then, she told us to 'come on up' there. We started following her as she rattled off the house rules or whatever information she was required to give us at that time. We couldn't hear or understand her; but we didn't think she meant for us to hear her. When we made it up to the 4th floor, we signed our waivers & she took the payment. We waited a bit & Bruno showed up.

If Emily had just read her audience, she would have been able to tell that we were a group of women old enough to be her mothers. (almost grandmothers:) Her chastisement couldn't have fallen on more def ears. And could not have been less appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I only went into such detail because I really enjoyed my time the first time. I would hate for anyone else to experience that type of hospitality no matter what the ranking of the employee. That one manager can ruin a perfectly wonderful experience.

My wife and I completed the Beast Tool Room escape room, and were quite disappointed. We have successfully completed over 100 escape rooms and this was one of the absolute worst. The hint system was poorly designed and implemented. Hints are given as riddles, were not applicable to our situation, and take away time with each hint. Finally, escaping from the last room was the most anticlimactic ending I've experienced. It was an "Oh, that's it? I guess we're done. " moment with no build-up. There were several locks and unopened containers remaining in the room, and it was quite a surprise to be dumped out of the room. There are plenty of other escape rooms to pick from. I would not recommend this one.

Probably the lamest escape room I've ever done. Group and I did Ghost of Merlin and finished it in 20 minutes no hints. We did the last puzzle expecting it to be another room, puzzle etc but instead we got a half hearted "OK guys come out you did it". Everything felt so corporate and formal like there was no love in the place. Lady who introduced us to the room admitted she forgot to put the clock back in and told us to "just time ourselves on our phones". Easily worst $100+ I've spent on a room. Don't recommend to escape room enthusiasts as you'll probably finish it extremely quick like we did.

My 13 year old daughter and her 2 friends got out of The Ghost of Merlin room in 53 minutes, without asking for any clues. It was the best escape room we've ever been to, so many doors to other rooms with more clues to open more doors to more rooms, very unique experience and the staff was super helpful and very friendly. Highly recommend for all ages!

Great experience. We frequent escape rooms and this was great. So excited to work through all of their rooms. Completed Manhattan Project, so fun. Rooms well done and thought out. Really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to doing them all.

I had a blast! The employees were very knowledgeable and professional. They went above and beyond to assist us. Although we didn’t escape the Beast Tool Room, it was soooo fun! Will return!

Great time. Got there a little too early and had to wait outside a while, but was very happy with the experience.

Had an amazing time here! The puzzles are intricate and very interactive. We tried two rooms, Ghost of Merlin and Dr. Boyle's Twisted Dentistry. Each were well thought out and challenging in their own way. The Dentistry does offer some jump scares but, given this is in a haunted house, we expected that going in. It added another level of intensity but was still entertaining. Ghost of Merlin was quite easier and the kids (13 & 16) seemed to follow the clues a little quicker. Love the details in each the room and appreciate how much thought is put into the puzzles. We are still talking about certain actions that are produced when solving a puzzle. The staff is amazing! So informative and you can tell they take pride in their rooms (and the haunted house). Definitely our favorite escape room in KC. We will be back to try out the remaining rooms and the one currently being designed.

Our group did the ghosts of merlin escape room had such a great time we did the Manhattan project escape room after. I highly recommend. The rooms were extremely well put together with lots of interactive and immersive elements you can only get at a place that specializes in set building like the beast haunted house. Next time we will be trying their hardest room for sure.

We had an adventurous and extremely fun time doing our escape! We cant wait to come back in September for the next. The staff was excellent and helpful. If you need something fun to do.book it now!

We ended up doing two rooms since they were so much fun. The staff was super nice and helpful and the rooms had great puzzles and a well define story flow.

Love this place as it is housed in an old building with creepy vibes. Over the course of the year that we were here my husband and I have tried all 4 rooms including the newest one (Dentist), and they were all fantastic. The Manhattan Project was difficult but also my favourite so far. The staff are always friendly and know just when to help.

This escape room experience was the most immersive escape room we have ever been to. We have done 30+ rooms and this one was definitely the most interactive and immersive! We absolutely loved it!

Great family experience. This was our first escape room and we were pleased. The staff was extremely welcoming and explained the rules in good detail. Would highly recommend.

We had a great escape room experience! The employees were passionate about their job and made the experience memorable. The location is also a haunted house for a good amount of the year creating a thrilling atmosphere. We did the dentist escape room and it was very well made with cool and well implemented puzzles! 10/10 experience

We did an escape room here about a month ago. It's so weird to see the place when it's not Halloween season! Our game master was very friendly and we had a great time doing the room! Definitely want to come back to try the others!
