Fun House Pizza & Pub reviews
21Ordered 2 pizza. One was good, the other was over cooked. The only difference between the two was the crust, one hand tossed and the other thin crust. You can guess which was over cooked. Sad day for sure when we drove 50 minutes to go there.
A classic in Independence. Top notch crust with generous toppings. When the full dining room is open they have great deals on pitchers of beer and lots of classic arcade games. If you have to be in Independence, at least get some good pizza.
It's not a bad place to eat don't get me wrong.but it's high dollar I think.but u do get what u pay for. Tuesday tacos are awesome too.
So Funhouse just shared that their Gluten free cauliflower crust is frozen. They made no real excuse as to why they burned the pizzas.
Bad experience.
Haven't had fun house in a vary long time so this was a nice change. Food was absolutely great. Staff was vary helpful and patient. Food was made in a decent time frame. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
Don't eat at the 40 hwy location. It was the most horrible pizza we have EVER HAD! EVER! No lie. $39 for 2 medium pizzas is Ludacris, too. Had the pizza been good, we wouldn't have left this post. We had to end up going to get something else to eat, as the 2 pizzas we got were NOT edible. One was gluten free which the crust could break a tooth and the toppings were sparce, just sauce. The 2nd pizza was a half hamburger/pepperoni, and it was charred & burned. No lie! All this for carry out. Smh
Pretty disappointed in the pizzas we ordered tonight. We asked for extra sauce on both of them and there was barely any sauce on the pizzas. Probably the driest pizza I’ve ever had. I’ve been having Fun House Pizza my whole life and this might be the last time.
Good morning,
I would like to discuss the decline in service from Funhouse which was my favorite pizza place in Kansas City. I think their pizzas are excellent. When we have company parties, I order 2-3 large Funhouse combos for the team to eat. During covid, I supported them even though the young person up front was rude and yelled at customers over the way they wore their masks, mind you they wore their masks but their noses were exposed. It bothered me how customers were treated but I overlooked it. Yesterday, I flew in from Boston and the first place I stopped was to get a pizza. I called on the way. I ordered using the coupon the company has in place for 20 years buy a large combo and get a small free pizza. I specifically told them on the phone I was coming in with the coupon and they said great, see you in 25 min. I get there. Charged me close to $40 and said they do not honor their coupons. I said you could have told me on the phone. I asked if they would honor it this time. No. So I left and I will not be going back. I am going to make sure everyone I know who likes Funhouse hears of how I was treated. I own 2 small businesses and I get that the wrong people in the wrong place can severely damage your business rather quickly. But I am done with ordering from my favorite pizza place. 20 year customer gone.
Service still carryout/curbside. But we were allowed to have a cold drink, play games, and use facilities while we waited. Nice staff.
I've been going to fun house pizza since I was a little girl and I still love there pizza never had any complaines you can't eat there still but you can order and pick up.
Fun house has some of the best pizza in town. Sadly because of covid and everything, their business hasn't been doing too well. But the food is still excellent and it's still one of my favorite restaurants to go to!
I hadn’t been here in close to two decades. I was recently back home and checked to see if it was still open. When I picked up my carry out order everything was exactly the same—including the pizza. It was just as good as I remembered. It’s so good to see this place still going strong through the pandemic!
Same as the Sara below, I just had this for the first time in a couple decades - AMAZING! Just as remembered and staff was doing a fantastic job handling a very difficult customer. Tip these kids well, they’re killing it keeping up a KC tradition. Thank you!
My family, friends, teams I coached, etc.have all frquented Fun House Pizza restaurants in both Raytown and Independence for over 35 years. During most of those years we believe they had the best pizza in KC. We used to buy a large combo and go to the old 63rd street and I-70 drive-ins and enjoy our pizza and watch the movies. Work friends of ours used to drive from downtown KC during lunch to the Raytown store just to get a Fun House pie! They had a huge reputation in the KC area for quality and quantity of toppings. Our family and friends would literaly fight over the leftover toppings that fell off the individual slices while pulling slices out of the box. Those sure were the days of great pizza!
Unfortunately, the last 15 years or so, both quality and quantity have dipped somewhat from those days of the past. Now when we have received our combo pies there are a lot less toppings, and in some cases, bare crust with little cheese. Figuring this is due to cost and inflation, is probably why it has become the norm for such a great pizza restaurant. No more extra toppings to fight over anymore, and lots more pizza bones (left over pie with no toppings) that don’t get eaten.
My wish is that the Independence store would offer the old style combo with loaded toppings like the old days. And if it cannot be done at the regular price, then maybe offer it as a special Loaded Combo price. Sure, the current pies can all be ordered with extra topping at a price per topping.but that can really add up money wise when adding by topping. Fun House please consider this idea for those of us who miss the old days.
Ordered our carry out order inside, waited 30-45 mins, pizza wasn't very appetizing, thin crust was TOO CRUNCHY, hard to eat, in some places. NO DINE-IN SERVICE
Got a thin crust canadian bacon pizza. It was delicious! Only curbside & carry out available (not sure about delivery)
- 1 * because parking is awkward, entrance door not marked, and their online menu isn't updated.
FunHouse has been a huge part of my family for as long as I can remember. We went to the (now closed) 350Hwy location in Raytown at least once a month when I was growing up (70s) altho we always got their fried chicken (very good stuff!). We also got their chicken as a family New Year's Eve dinner.
As "the grandkids" started coming, we had almost every birthday at FunHouse, but got pizza!
I was so sad to hear the 350hwy store closed whole I was living out on the Oregon Coast!
I finally broke down and decided to try the 40Hwy location. No chicken now ️
My brother and sister and I all enjoyed the misc kiddy rides they had in Raytown, especially the yellow horse! FYI I asked, and they have those rides in storage, and plan on installing them once they can have indoor dining again. Yay! My grandkids can be a part of a great family tradition soon!
Really really good pizza I actually like it it's a bacon a really good oven I see how some of these other places they've got that a little mechanical oven but this is an actual brick fireplace type of oven to cook pizzas in so I like the pizza I had the bill special I really like it's one of my favorites I haven't had anything else on the menu and Monday is taco day which is 85 cent tacos I believe. Other than that I like it
Love their pizza, love the fluffy, bubbly yet crispy crust. Little bit pricey. Don't order mushrooms toppings, they're canned instead of fresh for some dumb reason. Probably someone somewhere likes that but I don't. Also the onion rings are terrible, like what you'd expect from a prison cafeteria in Missouri.
This is the kind of service that is memorable. It is the little things, on top of the amazing food, that keeps me coming back! Their pasta is also delicious. I have had their lasagna and their eggplant parmigiana, both equally good.
They charged me for a Coke but didn't include it in my order. I asked for bacon on my pizza and they did canadian bacon instead of regular bacon. But overall food was good.
