Grace Baptist Church, Oak Grove MO

It's heartbreaking but Grace Baptist does not practice compassion and does not live by basic Christian principles. They actually openly go against the teachings of Christ. And we're very sure that He'll say to them one day: I never knew you.
We are two young women from Germany who are backpacking across America. We're Christians. When we got dropped off in Oak Grove, MO in the pouring rain we were looking for a safe place where we could wait out the rain. We walked over to Grace Baptist and stood in their entrance area. Well. Three people showed up. Two of them were actually deacons and instead of asking us if we need to use the bathroom or maybe offering us a bottle of water or shelter from the rain, they asked us to leave! And between the three of them there just seemed to be no trace of compassion or anything like that. We tried to have a conversation with them and it seemed like their faces went blank and they didn't even understand that what they are doing is not Christian and goes against the very teachings of Christ.
People like that make all of us Christians look like Hippocrates. It's people like that why so many turn away from Christianity. It's very sad.
Matthew 7 21-23
21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord, ’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? ’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness. ’
