Grand Bluffs Conservation Area reviews
10 Brief, 4-mile in & out to experience an ever changing perspective of historic landscapes,
Somewhat rocky, moderately difficult, wide, clear paths.
Very strenuous hike! Steep grades. The trail is not improved. Loose rocks, roots, trip hazards. Very little signage. Beautiful view!
Lovely afternoon hike to the overlook. It is a two mile out & back trail with several steep sections. The trail surface is in good shape. We saw three other hikers while we were out. AllTrails indicates 540 feet of elevation change.
A bit of a hike in full summer heat, but the view of the Missouri river valley is certainly worth it. Recommended if you're in the area and don't mind a somewhat strenuous ascent.
My only reason for a mark down is the path was pretty overgrown. Otherwise it was a nice hike, uphill mostly on the way out with a short drop to the observation area. Definitely bring bug spray! View was cool and reading about Lewis & Clark’s travels and how the area looked before was quite interesting.
Very nice place to visit. The trail is relatively easy but does take you up about 400' elevation rise to the peak & then back down about 125' to the viewing platform.
We have hiked this a couple of times now. Definitely a steady, steep incline to get there (and then again just as you leave the deck on the way back), but it is definitely worth it for the view. If you are passing through, or staying in Hermann, you should set aside an hour-and-a-half or so to enjoy this hike.
AMAZING view! Bit of an up hill hike. Coming down is much easier. I suggest using hiking poles or a good sturdy stick.
Great view! The hike is a bit difficult and there were lots of ticks. Nice hike along the Katy trail.
Yes, it looks like you're driving down someone's driveway to get there, but the map is right.
Trail is 1 mile up, 1 mile back- a mix of shade/sun & some steep inclines/flat grassy sections. Grass can reach above the ankle at a couple sections, but the trail is mostly rock and dirt. If you have bad knees, this probably not the best trail for you to do quickly because of the incline.
Sign says no horses & no bikes. There is a small parking lot at the base of the trail that could probably fit a dozen cars.
