I have been going to her for my cavities and checkups for over a decade. Personable personnel, great office atmosphere, and totally willing to make the experience as pleasant as possible. My kids and family also love her and the hygienists in her office.

I would really like to share my experience with Dr. Chong's office visits. Let me start out by saying I was never a fan of the dentist. With that said I am completely a regular for my cleanings and work recommended to be done to keep my teeth and gums as healthy as they can be. Dr. Cheong makes you feel so safe and comfortable with her soft voice and demeanor. All her staff are very friendly and polite. Its obvious they love what they do and who they work for. If you are in need of a dentist and are afraid like many, I recommend you call Dr. Cheong and her staff and let them take the concerns away!

Listen, I don't like going to the dentist, but for some reason I can go there with no problem at all. Not joking. Pleasant people and very professional. Very pleased with my experience.

Dr. Cheong is the BEST dentist we've found in Columbia, MO. We've had others and they either were terrible dentists, or they were terrible at bookkeeping. Dr. Cheong's office is fantastic at both!

Dr. Cheong always goes above and beyond to make sure our dental visits are pleasant! She gets to know each of her patients and makes them feel like family. My girls are excited each time we visit!

3 visits with Dr. Cheong so far all have been very good. Very short wait time. I would recommend her to a friend.

Visited here in mid November, had to come back to review my experience.

I grew up in St. Louis, but now live in Columbia. I had a dentist in STL for many years but finally decided it was time to get a local Dentist. So I came here for a cleaning and luckily they were able to get me in relatively quickly off of the wait list.

Standard procedure when I arrive… Insurance paperwork, wait a few minutes, then into the chair getting my teeth cleaning. No XRays which I thought was odd, they used XRays taken by my STL dentist 7–8 months prior. I do take good care of my teeth, and the hygienist could not stop talking about how clean my teeth were for someone my age. I haven’t had a cavity in maybe 10ish years at my STL dentist.

I informed the hygienist I had a problematic spot in the back of my mouth where it felt like there was a hard growth or cyst in my gums. Very hard… Almost bone hard… Almost tooth hard… Hygienist couldn’t locate the spot until the third attempt at me trying to explain to her where the spot was. She finally finds it and assured me it is just some fatty tissue and will dissolve in a few weeks.

Dr Cheong comes in, very kind. Praises about how clean my teeth are. But, then informs me she wants to correct a filling done by STL dentist many many years ago that is not bothersome, and give me a new filling on top of that. Reminder, these diagnoses are based on XRays from STL dentist 7-8 months prior as they did not take XRays of their own… Also confirms the fatty tissue in the back of my mouth will disappear in a few weeks. Slight pressure to sign paperwork to get fillings done ASAP but I declined… Seemed fishy.

I wanted a second opinion, so I went out of my way to go back to STL dentist. She confirmed fixing the filling was not necessary, and did note the new “cavity” would need to be taken care of in maybe 5-10 years, but not urgently. “Fatty tissue” in the back of my mouth, upon NEW XRays done by STL dentist, confirmed they were not fatty tissue, but rather wisdom teeth. And so, I had those removed also in STL at a surgery center a few weeks ago since that’s where the referral was valid.

In summary, everything seemed normal until Dr. Cheong failed to identity impacted wisdom teeth growing in my mouth that needed surgical removal after making the complaint clear to her in my examination, and (in my opinion, as well as my STL dentist) tried to preemptively give me one filling and unnecessarily fix another one based on XRay images taken 7-8 months prior by a different dentist. Failing to identify necessary dental procedures while also prescribing unnecessary ones are not traits of a dentist I would trust with their hands in my mouth…

Made an appointment and was given a date which was 3 months later. On the day prior to the appointment I call them to confirm and Britney the same person who took down all my details the first time goes - I don't have you on the list for tomorrow but I can book you for Feb 1st at the earliest - I try telling her that I'd called and made an appointment 3 months ago - No apologies no remorse nothing.she just kept repeating the same line again. Wonder how many other appointments she has messed up. I sincerely hope someone on the team will see this and let Dr Cheong aware of this.
