Ha Ha Tonka Castle Ruins reviews
19Really cool park with some outstanding hiking trails. If you are in the area put it on your list if you enjoy the great outdoors.
Our first time here, lots of trails, if you like history this is a place to come check out. The Castles are closed off for your safety. Lots of walking and there's an area where there's 300 stairs that's part of the trail. All the metal benches are dedicated to a loving memory of a person.family friendly. The top part of the parking is limited for a few cars but there is a bigger parking on the lower level. There's no charge to come walk the trail and see these abandoned castles
Absolutely beautiful place, lots of different trials. Next time I would grab a hammock, very relaxing, if taking 300 steps trial, worth it!
Beautiful and Historical. Put your walking shoes on and grab a water bottle. This is a must stop when visiting the Ozarks. Take advantage of this beautiful piece of history, wrapped around breathtaking natural.
This is a great park. It has castle ruins and other buildings to see. There are several trails to walk. The one we took had the walkway off the ground. There were several steps that were a challenge for me, but I made it! It was nice to be in the woods, but off of the ground. We will go again. The only downfall was you have to drive to the restroom. It would be nice to have some porta potties somewhere.
Nice little paved walk up to the ruins, maybe 10 min with benches along the way. Very nice views with a few overlooks also
Always love coming here with my family. We have been coming every year for years now. Love all the options on trails! Plenty of space for everyone. Fun for all Ages!
My wife and I first visited the castle 20 years ago on our honeymoon. It's such a beautiful place. We've been back several times and are always awed by the view.
This year I flew my drone over the castle and got a totally new perspective. I appreciate that Missouri state parks allow drone flights. While some people can be rude with drones, it is also possible to fly them respectfully. All the people I talked to at the park were polite and patient with my flights.
This had been one of my favorite spots to visit/hike/take pictures at my entire adult and teenage life. I highly recommend a visit from anyone who likes to see cool things outside or go hiking!
This is a great park to explore and get a bit of exercise, took the grandson (12yrs old) and two of my pups up and down the trails and walks, beautiful overlooks and tons of neat things to see. Make sure to apply a bit of your favorite bug repellent.
Not too busy on this Wednesday in August many family's and couples enjoying being outside.
Lovely experience when the weather is perfect. It was cloudy and lightly sprinkling which made it feel magical when we went. Short trails but great, "on top of the world" views!
It was a eat experience to see the standing ruins if the castle and imagine what it might have been like inside. You could still see on the stones where the fire had scorched them in certain areas.
Just awesome. There is a paved path to the castle ruins. Beautiful views. The water tower has a wooden boardwalk with some stairs.
I like the ruins because it has a pretty neat history behind it and it's amazing that these rocks were from this local ground and they still stand. The views were wonderful. Also this is probably the easiest trail to walk to the castle runs of the whole park.
Nice trails and great scenery, though we only had time to hit up a few of them. The one downer is that because of vandalism and lack of respect to the Castle ruins. You can no longer go inside or get close enough to touch the ruins. That made it a bit less fun.
Very cool spot. The runs are cool. The view is breathtaking.
I'd love a ranger talk through it, because honestly, there's always more to the story
The walk to the ruins is short, look for the upper parking lot. Make sure you walk around the back, there's more!
Please stop "off roading" at these places. You're ruining it for all of us.
Carry in! Carry out!
A beautiful trail with rich history. We were here for a wedding and the castle is a great background for a venue. Plenty of exploration and amazing scenery!
Couldn't really get too close to castle for the pics we wanted against the stone, however trails were AWESOME! Beautiful scenery.
