Harry S. Truman Sports Complex, Kansas City MO

We love this complex and only wish that they weren’t planning on moving Kauffman elsewhere…it will be a strange day in KC when they do.

The Truman sports complex is great specifically Royals stadium. Excellent venue to check out a ballgame. Easy in and out concessions are tasty lots of options and not a bad seat in the house.

We went to the Royals/Red Sox game and had quite an experience going through security because you can no longer take a purse that isn't see- through or more than 3" high and 4 inches wide. We had to take a purse back to the car, which was parked a very long way out in the parking lot. The small purse was only 5" high and 6" wide. There were only debit cards and ID in it, so you could easily see there wasn't anything else in it. We went to a Red Sox game in Boston and were able to take our full-size purses in. They checked them, and we went in. I understand being thorough for safety, but this is ridiculous. I witnessed a white headed security lady that had a metal detector wand go over to an African American lady and run the wand in front of her and then physically pat the lady's lower abdomen paunch. Well, you would think that would be good enough, but obviously not. The older woman then lifted the shirt so everyone could see and then patted her again. This had to be humiliating. So this African American lady spent a considerable amount of money to buy a ticket, then paid $30 for parking, and then was treated like a terrorist. Unbelievable! This was beyond safety. It seemed more like racism. I'm a white woman, but I was ashamed of the security's actions. We will just go elsewhere for baseball games. We used to love coming here for Royals games, but those days are over.

We really don't want the Royals to move downtown. It is so much more convenient where it is now, and we worry about downtown parking, one-way streets, etc.

Don't you dare tear Royals Stadium down. What's the point of building these grand monuments to engineering and anthropology only to level them so society forgets them? If they do decide to tear down Arrowhead too, which is on record as the loudest stadium in human history, it will be a crime. Oh, and someone should really fix the $1 hotdogs. Some vendors, they just look old. Who'd wanna eat that?

It was fun. We always make sure our kids go to at least one game a year for three experiences. We had good seats, and the kids had fun. Luckily, we were blessed with tickets this year because the price of everything is ridiculously. Two bottles of water are $20 FOR WATER. 2 BOTTLES! Yes, we paid it. The food you would have thought would be premium, top of the line, great quality. However, that is not the case. The pretzel was fire and so wad the cotton candy. The food from the place we ordered from was not worth the price. It's the place where you have to have tickets in order to go to it. They actually deliver the food to you in the section we sat in.

Some of the concession stands were not ready for the early opening of the gates, but other than that pretty good. Concert was great!
