Harvesters - The Community Food Network reviews
16Came here with members of our church! Super fun place to volunteer can't wait to come back!
Delivered here for the first time. Receiving opens at 8am. No truck parking around. Manage your time wisely.
The ppl working here sims to be very nice, professional and everyone keeps very busy around here. Great job guys!
Volunteered here in March 2023 and everyone was nice. The warehouse was clean, organized and I had a ball!
Englewood church in independence on winner road does not help with food. False advertising. When in need they insult you and cuss you out when you show up needing food. Remove the post! Or I will be contacting fox 4. No one deserves to be treated that way or talked to that way.
Remarkable facility meeting the food insecure. Volunteer as oftrn as possible. It will do your your heart good.
Went with my granddaughter & boyfriend.first time. Really enjoyed being there to help out. Sorted many varietys of Apples & put in mesh sacks from the bad ones. Kept us busy.probably 15 + in our group of sorters. I think we did GOOD & KEPT them busy filling several huge boxes out with forklift & bring more in.
Special weekend befor Superbowl so had drawing & room after for Snacks & decorated inCHIEFS Cutouts & cookies also the 3 of us WON Chiefs Rally towels
Great cause and love to volunteer! If you don't have time to volunteer, please consider donating
I volunteer at harvesters, if you want to help out, harvesters offers 2 hr shifts to volunteer.
Great place doing great things for our community. Our division at BCBS of Kansas City went there together to assist in their mission. Together we packaged "back-pack-buddy" bags, 4,395 of them in 2-hours! Challenge to any other group - even if you don't exceed what our team did, it is a great experience and you are giving back to others. Harvesters would gladly accept your assistance!
Not knowing we went to harvesters with the understanding they donated food to the poor.
After finding a person to explain the working, they told us harvesters does not give out donations to individuals. Instead harvesters receives donations from local businesses then harvesters donations go to area food banks helping as many people as they can. By what I understand of harvesters they are upstanding in their giving.
A great place for you or your organization to volunteer! Very friendly and organized staff. They take a situation that can sometimes be awkward, and make it an easy and enjoyable experience. They have volunteer opportunities for all ages and abilities!
Great people, very kind and friendly.
They just need it better marked/highlighted for drivers to wait off property before entering. I never even saw it before one of your drivers chewed me out for not waiting off property before being very dismissive. I didn't know the recieving did was supposed to be locked and not allow me in there.
In and out fast unloading.
Checked in before you enter the lot. Limited parking on the street.
Worked here briefly. My experience is one of disrespect.
Got hired for double reach forklift. When i got there the truck i was supposed to use had a pretty steady oil leak. The supervisor signed it off on the inspection sheet and told me they know it leaks (its a food distribution warehouse) and to drive it untill later they been using it like that for over a week as they waited on the guy to fix it.
Halfway through (4hours into shift) the maintenance man for it took it and started working on it.so for 4 hours they told me just hang out.
The next day an incident happened where i needed to speak to the boss. And the supervisor told me no im not calling him, then proceeded to "stare" at me as if he had a problem with me.neddless to say the job assignment was not long lasting.
Overall this place has a clean breakroom and office.other than that it is very messy for food distribution, and i will no longer recommend anywhere that provides good from harvester even if they are desperate.
1/10
They are great people that help our family which is greatly appreciated! Very friendly and I would recommend them to anyone who needs some help with food!
