Thank you to HERTZ! We were to leave for a much needed non-refundable family vacation on a Sat morning. The night before, we had some car problems and weren’t able to take our car on the 15 hour drive. We scrambled to find a rental that would fit our family of 5. We found a rental online with another company to pick up the next morning on Sat at 9am. Half way on our way to pick up the rental, the morning we were supposed to leave for our trip, they called us and said they didn’t have the car available. We went to another rental company and they had nothing at all. We went to a third one, they had nothing either- not even a sedan. We ended up stopping by Hertz near our house and they had a minivan available! We are so very thankful that Hertz was able to help us out at the last minute. Not only did Hertz have a rental available but they were the most affordable! After this experience, we won’t rent anywhere else. A big thank you to Hertz and the staff in Lees Summit, MO that helped us out!

Bad experience today at Hertz. When we arrived my 8 year old really had to go to the bathroom. You know, like ants in my pants type thing. So, we rushed in, but there was a sign on the bathroom saying that it was not for public use.
Normally, this would be no big deal, I would just hold it and move along to some other place to go, but if you have children you know that once it is urgent, you have very little time. We asked if Isiah, the employee at the time would make an exception. He refused to do so, and said that we should just finish checking out and go somewhere else to go to the bathroom. I told him that it was an emergency, and I would be happy to clean up after my son, so that he wouldn't have to worry about that. Still, he refused. I was flabbergasted. He showed no compassion for my child, and refused to give me his manager's contact information not his full name. He did claim to be the manager, but there is no way someone with this mindset could get into a leadership position. We walked out, and will not return to this location as long as Isiah is working here.
I am a small business owner, and with my employees I encourage them to do everything they can to make our clients feel appreciated and we'll taken care of. If Isiah were one of my employees, I would either let him go or put him through significant training to try and improve his mindset. Take care of your clients and they will keep coming back, or show them that they are not appreciated and they will find someone else to do business with.

Reserved car for morning pickup. We didn't get a car until late afternoon and wasn't the car we reserved.

Avoid this place! I read the reviews and rented here anyway…and I regret it completely.

My rental was supposed to be anywhere from 10 to 30 days, provided by my insurance company. My wife tried to open the passenger door of the Kia Soul this morning and the handle fell right off. She’s small, 5’0”, and the door didn’t even open so she wasn’t pulling hard enough to break anything. There were gobs of superglue inside (I have pictures) so it had obviously been broken previously and “fixed” with superglue (whether it was done by previous customer or the store employees I cannot say). Zachary Higgins, the general manager, refused to switch me into another vehicle (and I could not keep the car with no door handle even if I wanted to). He said he didn’t have any others that size for several days. I offered to pay the difference for another car and he would not. It was not because other cars weren’t available - they were. He even told me what cars he had available but then said I could only have the exact size my insurance paid for and paying for an upgrade was not an option. When I asked him why, he began accusing me of breaking the door handle. I asked for the rental to end immediately and left. I took my business to the competition.

This young man has a complete lack of customer service skills or business ethics. He should not be a manager training other people…or should be retrained at the very least.

As a Hertz Gold Member I’d like to say with all disrespect screw Hertz Lees Summit… Terrible customer service, try to overcharge my security deposit three times, Now it’s been 15 days and they still haven’t returned the hold on my credit card. And all they do is turn around and blame your banking institution. NEVER RENT FROM THEM. You’ve been warned

Called this morning to reserve a car for tonight and tomorrow. Ask for either economy or compact. Told them I have a 4 and half hour up to Iowa. They they would have something for me. So I drive up there. Have a friend take me only to get there and they tell me only thing they have is ford transit van. That should get great gas mileage! I'm upset that they couldn't call me by 5 to tell me they will not have a car. Instead I get to waste an hour and some gas for nothing! Thanks Hertz it really did hurt!

I had a confirmed reservation for a one way rental to Texas. When I arrived to pick up my car despite them having over 35 cars on the lot the manager, Zachary Higgins, told me no cars available for my reservation. I had to be in Texas that day to pick up a car I had purchased. He ignored me totally and refused to rent to me. Instead rented cars to several customers. I finally drove to the airport and the manager there honored my reservation. Mr Higgins has no customer service training and this sorry rental location should be avoided!

I made a reservation to rent for my birthday. They were out of cars. Never had any returned to them. They told me that I couldn't use my reservation at another location. I won't be calling them again. They're not the ones needing a car so that don't car

We booked a car to pick up on a Saturday at noon. Didn't notice that the branch closes at noon on Saturdays, why would they allow a noon pickup? Showed up at 12: 15 and no one was there. I can't blame the local store for the reservation but a heads up that it wasn't going to work would have been nice. Now we start the week without a car we really needed.

Be very careful with these guys If you are planing on getting an uber rental car from this location. They cheat people like there is no tomorrow. I will never do business with them again and NO ONE SHOULD!

Kristian did an amazing job. He helped us out when a bad situation happened. He worked well to make sure that we had a car to get around with for the time that we needed and then also held a car for me if we needed it to get back home. I would highly recommend his location for a rental.

Never rent from here ever! Businesses with NO customer service deserve NO customers. Just a smile would be nice or maybe offering upgrades to the rental package.but the only thing you will receive from this Hurtz is the keys to a dirty car and bad start to your trip.

Just don't. Your credit score will be impacted. Possibly your identity stolen, warranty company charged for extra days. Poor customer service. AND even the possibility of being charged or reported for a stolen rental car. Shifty business, not unlike the local enterprises too. The Kansas city area is foul. Was glad to leave the area.

These guys saved the day when Enterprise didn't have any cars (even though I had a reservation). I got an upgrade to an SUV because they didn't have the 'standard' sized car I reserved. I was also LESS EXPENSIVE than Enterprise was going to be so it was meant to be. Everyone was very friendly and helpful!

I flew in to catch the Sox KC game. Since I understand that sometimes folks at the rental aren’t familiar with rentals at a small airport, I call ahead. I spoke w an agent, gave him my name and made the reservation- as a gold member.

I arrive and no car. When I finally reach a human at the facility, he blames other employees and that the gold system didn’t have my info.

My day is largely ruined. By the time I get to the game, it will be half over. Should have gone w enterprise - two of their customers had cars waiting. No wonder hertz is going out of business.

Made a reservation a week before picking up the car. No problem. Go to pick it up and the rep says they have no cars available. No phone call or email or anything to say nothing was available. Takes two weeks to get a refund. Spent the rest of the afternoon trying to find a car for an 1100 mile week long trip that we we're supposed to go on that afternoon that was now changed to leaving the next day. Waste of time.

Hertz Corporate call center representatives and local Hertz offices need to communicate so when a customer is booking a vehicle there is accurate information given as opposed to saying whatever is necessary to make a sale then hope for the best.

The in store representative was cool, calm and collected in the face of the error and I can only hope this becomes a teaching moment for the company on communication importance.

My question at this point is how will it be made right? No real solutions were offered and had to rebook the vehicle initially promised at a higher price which is absolute garbage.
