18I was floored by the personal service. I was greeted with a big smile and excellent customer care. They provided me with a vehicle that will accommodate both personal and professional meetings. It was exactly what I needed. Kudos to management as well. He took the time to meet me and accept an acknowledgement for one of his stupendous employees. Excellent team work at this location. I'm now a Gold Member!
It was "smooth sailing" all the way, from picking up the car at the new Kansas City airport to returning it.

I accidentally booked the wrong airport (private airfield) but luckily Dayna A.was super helpful and despite them having very few cars left she made it work for me. Thanks Dayna!
Amazing customer service by Cameron today! He was very polite and professional even when we forgot to fill up with gas before returning. He kindly gave us our options and when we returned with the full tank he continued to impress us with his professionalism and kindness. Then he blew us away when we were on the shuttle to the airport. He raced up and saw us and he was holding my husbands phone in his hand! WOW - for him to see the phone so quickly and act so quickly to run to shuttle to get it to us is simply unbelievable and unexpected and amazing customer service!
ASHLEY deserves a raise, promotion, and all the above. Employees like her are worth their weight in gold.
My flight was delayed to the point where they would be closed when I landed. I didn’t want to end up a no-show and end up losing nearly $800 for the rental I had booked weeks in advance. Unable to contact a real person so I just canceled and booked through Alamo. I do recommend Alamo at the airport, they promptly had a real person answer the phone and they helped me book a rental last minute. Now I’m down $200. Avoid this place
! BEWARE! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORAMATION HERE! We rented a car here and a week later we had changes showing up from other Hertz locations. The woman who took our payment was acting very suspicious about it. Don't rent here!
Pick-up was fine, but drop-off a disaster. When I entered the drop-off queue in the garage, an attendant motioned for me to park in a lane to the left and then told me to leave the keys on the dash. But instead of coming over with an Ipad, checking the mileage and gas, and giving me a receipt the way all other Hertz locations do, he just said that I should go to the rental desk to take care of the paperwork. Unfortunately, the first rental desk in the garage itself was closed, so I had to talk to the Hertz people at the central location in the rental car building, with all the other car companies. I gave the representative my name, and she said I was OK and could go, but she did not give me a receipt or discuss the charges. I stupidly walked away, assuming Hertz was competent. But now, two days later, I get a bill from Hertz charging me for $72 in fuel charges even though I returned the car with a full tank, having filled up once two hours from MCI and once again at the gas station right across the street from this Hertz location. This Hertz office doesn't answer their phone, and the main Hertz line just hands me off to a computer. Very disappointing experience with Hertz, and the first serious problem I've every had with Hertz in the many years I've rented from them.
Did not have car ready. Car not fully charged. Name was not on the board. Returned with more charge - instead they billed my card instead of compensating me.
A wee late on this review but wanted to give credit where it’s due. Super kudos to Ashley at Hertz in Kansas City! My staff and I were in town for work and rented a car from Hertz. We were roaming the lot trying to find where the midsize cars were and Ashley comes over immediately and guided us where to go. After choosing our car (was upgraded since they didn’t have midsizes left - so awesome), we noticed the light for air pressure on the tires was on. Ashley comes to save the day by offering us a Nissan Rogue with 3 miles on it! She even runs over to it to claim it for us so no one else grabs it while we unloaded our luggage. What incredible customer service and attentiveness. Ashley is a breathe of fresh air, especially after a long flight. On our return we were met with the manager of Hertz. While we were about to unload our luggage, he tells us to hop back in and he’ll give us a lift to the airport (versus taking the shuttle bus). Wow, another example of how they are going above and beyond for their customers. Thank you Ashley and the manager! Please continue being awesome! Hertz is the way to go for car rentals in Kansas City!
I guess you don’t consider that there are flights after 8pm. Now my choices are sit in the airport overnight or pay for a hotel because this is a JOKE for a so-called “international” airport. At least the location in Texarkana answers the phone. I’m a Gold card member and this has to be the worst hours I’ve seen for a large airport.
Hertz is the most rude and unhelpful company ever! Our RV broke down and the closest place we could rent a car was in Kansas City. Nowhere else were any cars available. So we rented a Uhaul and my husband drove 2.5 hrs to get the mini van we rented online. Myself and 3 kids waited in the hot RV. We couldn't fit in the Uhaul. The rental car was with Dollar, but when he got there the counter was closed with a note to go to Hertz. They claimed that Dollars system broke down and they couldn't help us. They refused to give him one of their cars too. He then called Dollar and was on the phone with them for 20 min. They went into Hertz's system and rented a car for us. This all happened right in front of the Hertz counter and they could hear everything. He got a reservation number and called the clerk and gave him the reservation number. She refused to even look up the reservation stating after 8pm Dollar didn't have access to their system. It was 8: 01! After some discussion my husband went from one rental car desk to another. Hertz had cars on the lot! No one else had any until he got to Avis! They were so kind to get us into an SUV. A tight squeeze, but at least we were able to get home. Hertz seems to have such a bad customer service culture that it seems to be ok to treat customers in this way! No heart, no empathy, no compassion for an urgent situation. He had even explained what happened to us and that 3 little kids and his wife were waiting. Never again Hertz!
I made a reservation on Priceline. It was cancelled without notification by Hertz. Then while at the counter I made another reservation on the website and was told it could not be honored (no same day reservations). No where on the website was I notified that it could not be honored and they took my payment in advance. I had to go to Avis (they were honest and helpful) to get a rental. Then I received a $109 charge from Hertz 3 days later on my credit card for not picking up the reserved car that Hertz told me I couldn’t have. I will never use hertz again. Do not trust the website or the personnel. They only care about their bottom line.
No one answers phone - ever. My flight was delayed and I was going to arrive after they closed. I finally just called the main 800 number to see if there was after hours pick up - customer service agent said no and told me I should just wait outside Hertz and my car would be ready for me at 7am. For real?

Charged $700 for keys! We called about after hours procedures for drop off. Not only told to leave keys in glove box, there is also a sign in the parking area that says to leave keys in car. Never using Hertz again. Thanks for tarnishing our once a year vacay to see our grandchildren! I will dispute this until I receive a refund. I’m sure there are cameras showing someone moving that car! And the clear big letter signs that say to Leave keys in the car! When you get on their shuttle they also have a big sign posted saying you can leave keys with shuttle driver! So there is NO way to have keys on you. Then there is TSA!

Update: Hertz did refund us the $700. But the fact they charged us for missing keys is shady & we will never use this company again.
If you are booking through priceline, avoid this place at all costs.
I was charged over 700 bucks since this place doesn't honor so called "SAME DAY RESERVATIONS". There was no such rule while booking on priceline. It has been a month and priceline is still researching on the issue. SCAMMERS!
This hertz left me stranded with no proper spare and no assistance. When I ultimately had to buy a tire for the car on my own, they refused to reimburse the purchase, proceeded to offer a certificate that would be mailed to me for a future rental, and never sent even that. Terrible experience with this location. Management was a joke to deal with.
