Hickory House Inn, Dexter MO

I really don't like to burn people and always give them a chance. First room had non-functioning AC and they gave us a second room with a horrendous odor in the refrigerator and the third room has problems too. They have done nothing to prepare for guests. Every room was dirty, but as we wiped down surfaces they came clean. Why aren't they cleaning the rooms to get ready for their next customer? They should pay us for our services, leaving as early as possible, hope we are able to sleep. One last thing, every room had the refrigerator unplugged. They should have a couple of them ready to go on the off chance that another victim will come down the highway.

Filthy busted up room. You get what you pay for. Sticky floors, mold and busted tiles in bathroom. Toilet leaking. Fridge smelled of sour milk. Had to put a chair against the door due to faulty lock. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Nasty, sorry to say this but you covered and she's had stains on them in the floor was just nasty it was nasty

Showers needed to be cleaned, place needed to be Aired out. Seemed some customers made it a place to live

If We could give it a zero we would. After a 15 -20 minute check in to get my key, We walked in to a room full of flies. The room was non-smoking but smelled like cigarette smoke. The comforter was folded down and you could see the sheets had stains on them. My husband pulled the sheet and comforter back to check the bed and it had a big wet spot on it. It was obvious that the covers were just pulled up and remade with the same sheets. We checked out very fast.

Microwave didn't work they didn't fix it my son found 2 dirty tampons on floor the tub broken wouldn't drain they didn't fix it told me wait till tomorrow lol tomorrow if be checked out so thats just messed up wouldn't reimburse the money or move me to different room. They dont speak English well.the pool isn't a pool. The housekeeper said her self they aint got enough linings to keep this place going the boards going around the rooms all falling apart and broken screws every where it dangerous

I would never stay here ever again. Very nasty, AC on the fritz. Let me repeat do not bring children here

Older motel that does have some small flaws but clean comfortable room and a great price for weekly rates

I have stayed there several times. It was filthy this time. Room, ice area, office, everything. To be fair I notified the owner. Can't recommend this place to anyone. Cockroaches crawling around. Yuk.

It is a place to sleep if you can't find anywhere else. Not real clean, prices are terrible. Customer service - non

If you can stay somewhere else, please do. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Was supposed to be a non-smoking room but my comforter had cigarette burns all over it. Very outdated. The walls are even more thin than a normal hotel and I had to listen to a person hack his lungs up literally all night long. There's also no chain lock or any other lock outside of the deadbolt which is extremely hard to lock and the regular lock where you have to swipe the key card. Front desk person was extremely rude. I have a service dog and she refused to look at the paperwork and charged me for my dog. If you have a service dog and haven't paid for one of the id cards that you can buy online, she's going to charge you. There's a motel 6 not even 20 minutes away. Usually no pet fees even if it's not a service dog. Seriously though, keep driving away from this one. It's not worth the price or aggravation.
