Hicks Home Town Drive-In reviews
18Love old school drive ins. Great service, lots of menu options reasonably priced. Pretty good food.
If you haven't tried their Hot and cheese on Texas toast- you're missing out. Best sandwich in town.
If you go in and get cheddar crisps, it's a waste of money. For 5.55 I only got 9 small cheddar crisps. I was expecting to get a large bag like we used too. 9 pieces for almost 6.00 that's insane.
Sooo.don't care who sees this, be aware they serve their root beer floats overflowing, without lids, to vehicles. I could understand it if we went in but.ordered 2 medium for my 4y & 7y olds an 2 large for myself and my mom. NO LIDS.asked for lids and the girl got an attitude an came back with lids on them and the SPOON in the the straw hole. Like.seriously guys? Not everyone likes a mess, I asked nicely. I'm a waitress, I get that it can be annoying to fix and order but that's your job. The attitude set me off, I wasn't rude at all but I also will NOT be going back. If I do it will not be for floats.
Also, I paid $27 for this mess.that's just 4 floats, nothing else today. Definitely my worst time going there.
Didn't order food today but I can say their grilled cheese is good.
Way too much peanut butter and hot fudge in my "Peanut Butter Hot Fudge Sunday"... I know I sound crazy right? How could you have too much? I swear, in a 12oz Sunday, there must have been about 2 golf balls worth of ice cream that mostly melted because of the hot fudge. I had to use another cup to shovel fudge into while looking for the ice cream I never found.
Worst food ive had in a very long time. Burgers were anything but fresh beef. Rubbery, very nasty. Fries were cold and no flavor. Do not waste your money here.
Now this food is good, real good! Fast, friendly service and pricing is nice too! It's a good place to eat so go check it out!
Always good food served hot and with a smile in a timely manner. Have tried most of there menu and like there pork tenderloin sandwich with ketchup, mustard and onions the best!
Only had ice cream but it was delicious! Order the cake batter, cookie dough hurricane. Seriously so tasty!
Ok food, clean indoor dining area, fast cook!
Our server wasn’t very knowledgeable of the menu or what came on two of their sandwiches that we had asked about. Not a big deal because we eventually found descriptions on the menu for the sandwiches in question.
Here is something that we found to be an odd part of our experience; the menus did not reflect current prices. There was a laminated note on the table that announced menu items could be twenty to sixty (or so) cents more. Not really a problem but we thought that it was strange to have to order (almost blindly) like that. Maybe we were just overthinking it? One member of our party had ordered a mushroom burger and substituted Texas Toast. The menu had noted that you could get any sandwich on TT for an extra fifty cents. When she got her ticket she had been charged the fifty cents twice and thought it may have been a mistake. Our server assured her that she had to pay for each slice of the toast. Maybe a bit high for two slices of toasted bread?
I believe the entire experience would’ve been more enjoyable without the awkwardness of the mystery pricing and the (fairly warned) “surprise” of what was perceived as a double charge for bread.
Overall, burgers were okay. Service was okay. Environment was okay. Am I planning to go back anytime soon? Probably not.
Prices are a little higher than it says on the menu. I got the double cheese burger combo said $9.85 IT CAME TO 11.58. SERVICE was good employees friendly. Everywhere is high now but with a tip im just thinking other options.
Parking was a tight fit for a large vehicle. Service was swift and courteous. The food was amazing. Definitely recommend
1 star rating is due to false advertising. All menus inside and out have the wrong prices. They don't bother to tell anyone. No signs on the door or menus to indicate a price change until you get your bill.
When brought to the attention of the on duty manager, the only comment was "that's the way register rings it up. Our prices increased. The outside menus have been changed. Just haven't gotten to the menus inside. "
Outside menus are not changed match the inside menus.
There was no apology nor offer to discount even a little to make up for the difference in price, almost $5 more.
We we're from out of town and even let the waitress know. So should have been told before ordering.
They should have posted a note on menu to say prices increased or prices on menus not correct.
A bit pricey for fast food.
Always a good experience. Brought 3 new people today and they loved it too. They'll add it to their Hwy 36 favorites.
We ordered the Outback burger. It was disgusting. Frozen hamburger patty with fake grill marks and they were still cold. Fry’s were tiny bits and pieces.
Fast service, Great food, and very nice employees. We were greeted when we came in and told to have a good evening when we left.
It's your basic old fashioned type Hometown fast food joint! Love it! +they deliver & has chocolate ice cream as opposed to the other place similar to this place, but starts with an "S" that Only started delivering via Door Dash (costs more).
My friend and I both had the tenderloin sandwich meal. We were both impressed by the sandwich size.not flattened and fried to death but over a half inch thick and moist. Food arrived promptly and the server courteous and professional.
