Hope Family Care Center, Kansas City MO

Had an appointment scheduled for today scheduled for 3. I got there and it said they were closed due to a water main break. That is fine, but I didn't even get notified. I called and the scheduler didn't seem to care, no apology. I took off of work and wasted my time going there today.

Do NOT go here. This place is not run right. They claim to be helping people that are uninsured or low-income and instead stick people with bills that they can’t even afford. Try to ask in advance, and you’ll get the run-around. No one knows what anyone else is doing, and I’m just not that stupid to get stuck in the end. They claim that they go over financial help in advance and don’t. Instead, they want you to show up, fill the paperwork out, see a doc, and then be told you will pay the full fee of $150-200. They get you there based on lies and hope you won’t leave. Why not be transparent to ensure you get paid promptly, for starters? They decide the fees when they feel like it. What a nightmare for anyone needing healthcare and in a bad position to begin with. An excellent way to screw people’s credit up and leave them even worse. Then you owe that, and what can’t go back or owe thousands if you do? Unprofessional and against everything that we are taught in public healthcare. Be thorough and correct, or it’s indeed NOT helpful. Scammy, to say the very least. Call around if you are uninsured, and you’ll find much better prices than their full price and a much better atmosphere. Don’t be fooled.

I called to make an appointment a lady name Deborah answered me.
The way she answering off top laughing with co workers about whatever they where talking about was so unprofessional, she continue to keeping giggling thought out the process of her taking my information. Once we got off the phone I checked the reviews and 95 % of the reviews are SO bad. I should have checked before calling that's my fault. So why bother going to see MAYBE you'll get a different experience.
I read a review of a pt.being charged over 200$ when advising 35 $ per visit.yeahhh I wouldn't want any surprises. A NOTE FOR PEOPLE WHO COME ACROSS THE REVIEWS, PLEASE GO BY REVIEWS. We definitely love our new Dr now and we tell everyone definitely don't go to hope family care because Dr Crawford definitely don't care about his patients AND since he got married and he definitely doesn't have a great bed side manner has a awful attitude and he definitely doesn't have a caring heart he rushes all his patients and we absolutely love our new Dr now at least they have a wonderful caring heart and awesome attitude too

If I could have gave 0 stars I would of. Referred to a surgeon.never heard from anyone to schedule the appointment. Appointment took 2 hours.

They claim to work on a sliding scale. However, this was not the case. A family member went in for a consultation. Nothing else. Despite filling out the paperwork and qualifying for a lower cost, they still charged her $280. Also, the communication has been a mess and they have been discourteous and rude toward her. I also had a similar experience with the rudeness and discourteous staff, so I cancelled all appointments with them. I don't recommend this place, especially if you're seeking quality care on a sliding scale.

Dr Crawford is a joke and our favorite nurse Linda is not there and we r definitely not returning back because Dr Crawford is absolutely rude and don't return phone call s and he thinks he is the best but HELL NO he is absolutely rude and don't want to help any one u definitely have changed u definitely need to close your door s and u definitely fired Linda. Worst office I've ever been to! Needed paperwork faxed into my work. Simple right? Wrong. They lost my paperwork and waited three weeks to tell me. Then, after over two months, still have yet to send it in. Did these doctors get their degrees from Crayola University? They act as if the easiest of tasks is beyond their scope.

Do yourself a favor and find a different clinic. This one is beyond saving.

Very friendly, but our situation came to little or no avail. Loved the environment & painted mural. Sad my Son was not able to receive much assistance, in his diagnosis to date.

They never answer the phone so how can you ever talk to anyone I have to get on the bus and go all the way down there just to get simple questions answered

My family and I have gone here for a few years now, and we can't speak highly enough about them. Great doctors, great staff, great place. Would recommend to anyone.

I had a really good experience with Dr. Anne Kettler and my nurse. They were very thorough, kind, and I didn't feel rushed at all like I have at many doctors offices before. The latter especially makes them excellent in my book. I wasn't a number to them at all, I was a person they cared about helping. I will visit them again.

They are the worse when it comes to returning phone calls. I have left several voicemails the last 3 weeks and no one has yet to return my call pertaining to my child

Everyone was very helpful and professional. I did not have a long wait to see the Doctor. I was very impressed overall.

I have been going to Hope off and on for several years. My reviews are only from my experience (s). I do have to agree (with some reviews) when it comes to the rude and disrespectful receptionist. I think they lack common sense to helping people or think they can talk to you any kind of way. The nurses and doctors have been nice and helpful over my visits. However, when it comes to keeping up with past doctors/ medications they are not current or non-existent. I would think that should be updated/maintained.when being transferred to another doctor within the Heath Clinic- not with Hope. Another issues is receiving bills/co payments. I have not received any yet- I am sure this will change as I will not be coming back until those bills are in the mailbox. I am going to continue to run a tab up and cant even get bills for them within a reasonable time frame. I have received bills for blood withdrawal and other external service. I will be looking for another doctor's office soon due to this issue.
