House of Denmark - Modern Home & Office Furniture reviews
13Not happy about my experience with salesman and manager there yesterday. Around 430-5pm, we went in to find a queen bed and 2 chests. We fell in love with a brand that went bankrupt and they had 2 different models left from this brand. Of the model we liked, they let us know they had 2 chests in stock, but a king size bed and we would have to buy everything which also included 2 nightstands and lingerie chest. So we asked to negotiate since we would be given the floor model and had to buy more than we wanted. The salesman responded if we negotiated a price with everyone we would have Arabs in here negotiating all day. WHAT! You generalize people because of their nationality. A part of selling is negotiation. And they were not initially intending to sell all pieces together. I know this because they displayed signs up for several other items stating the price of the set and you had to buy the entire set for the price. Whereas the brand we wanted had all prices listed separately with no sign stating the cost of buying the set and that the set must be bought together. Either they didn't like us or they didn't want to sell to us for some reason. For us, they sure made it difficult to buy what we wanted.
Friendly knowledgeable staff, not pushy had a nice selection and the items we needed were in stock.
Found the perfect chairs to decor my living room. Loved the prices and selections. Definitely going back.
You can get the exact same furniture pretty much anywhere for 1/3 of the cost. We bought some furniture from them. We did some searching after we got it home and purchase an exact same end table, exact same quality, literally replica for the exact same price. Everyone need to make money but their markup is crazy.
I couldn't even get anyone to talk to us! Sorry we came in wearing our casual clothes! I'll go buy my stressless chair from Scandinavian Designs!
The furniture we recently purchased was beautiful. We got the white gloves treatment for the delivery.
Nice stuff. But too many bad experiences. This time the warehouse was closed -they would sell the floor model but they wouldn't remove 8 bolts from the side table so it would fit in my car. Don't know why I keep going back.
The showroom and warehouse were a positive experience. I was specifically in the hunt for an Ekornes Leather Stressless chair. The sales person Steven was pleasant, knowledgeable, and no pressure. The showroom is stocked with a full line up of Stressless models, leather options, colors, and samples of materials. I tried out all the models once and several of the models numerous times. I was not hovered over and all my questions were answered promptly. There was a lack of enthusiasm from other associates to my follow up phone call questions and messages for Steven to call me back. However eventual follow up communication with Steven ironed things out.
I opted for a chair model with options that were in stock at their east coast distribution center. So I didn't have to wait for shipment from Norway. It arrived to the Chesterfield warehouse approximately 3 weeks after I ordered it. I chose to pick it up myself and it was easy peasy. Communication from the warehouse was timely and accurate. The chair is unprotected at the dock, so bring your own furniture blankets.
Miss information on delivery, just so they can make money on the $150 delivery fee.
Miss representation between what the showroom Item looks like versus the actual item that I purchased.
Absolutely horrible experience. They care nothing about treating their customers right. Ordered a chair and went to the warehouse for pickup, and the warehouse worker dropped it and broke a leg right in front of me. Then while he was trying to repair it, we noticed the chair had gotten smudged and stained and the warehouse guy tried claiming it was always that way. It was brand new when I bought it! Had to leave without the chair so they could repair and clean it. Then they refused to deliver it unless I drove all the way out to the warehouse again to "look at it. " I asked if they'd managed to clean it and they would not give an answer. When I asked if they would be offering a discount since I purchased a new chair that they damaged, they said they would promise nothing, but if they chose to offer a discount, they would rescind the free delivery. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Finally had them refund the whole thing. I will never go back and I'm telling everyone I know not to shop there as they disrespect and mistreat their customers and their purchases.
Drove a thousand miles, round trip twice! Waited seven months for the leather custom order to arrive from Norway and was able to pick up a beautiful office chair.
Unique (at least for St. Louis) scandinavian design furniture. Friendly and helpful staff.
