First time. And probably not the last! We had the lunch here and the gentleman serving was super friendly. The place was clean. And the food was tasty. The prices are really affordable and for two people it was $20 for soup, rice, vegetable roll, crab rangoon and the full meal. Totally check this one out if you live in the area.

I have been coming to Hunan Empress for over 20 years. The last five years I have not been in STL, and when I came through this week I knew I had to get my hands on the good stuff! I am writing this review because our dinner tonight was the single best we have had from this place. It was fresh, hot, fast, and unbelievably tasty. When I got in the car with the take out bag the good smells almost knocked me over—I couldn’t wait to get home and have dinner!

If you are looking for a good local Chinese place, this is your spot. You won’t regret it!

My family went to have lunch today. We ordered Shrimp egg foo young, Cashew chichen, Pot Stickers and Hot braised chicken wings. Everything was really good and tasty and will be back. Only got a picture of the best wings. Curtis was a excellent server.

Food was good but Ive been spoiled by Corner 17. The service was great tho and the atmosphere is old school Chinese.

We had a breeze chicken came with no sauce. This is the worst chicken I have ever ordered. There is a large container of rice with absolutely no sauce to go over the rice. I called them back to asked them for more sauce and the cook refused to give me additional sauce without a charge. I was willing to buy the sauce, and the person who answered the phone hung up on me when I asked for them to bring me more sauce. I was willing to buy more. I will never order from this place again

I absolutely love Hunan Empress. I’ve been going here for almost a decade. I highly recommend it!

Took a chance an it was the worst mistake. I got food poisoning and found a bug cooked into my food. I've been sick for two days now. Definitely a first and last time eating there. Good luck!

Usually this is a place to get good Chineese takeout. I like it. Its a bit pricey but it tastes good.

Have been several times - maybe enough to be a regular. Very nice people, excellent service and quality food. Sizzling Rice Soup is excellent and one of the reasons we come back.

The waiter was friendly and was always there to refill our waters. The food portions were large for a cheap price and was absolutely delicous.

Super good for a takeout Chinese place. Their lunch special is a great value. Love the chicken and broccoli, lo mein, and Hunan chicken. SO GOOD!

Best crab Rangoon I have ever had. This service is amazing. It’s so quick and easy. And last food it so very fresh.love it!

Over the last 6 months Hunan Empress had not been as good as it has for years. The service is slow and the food is just ok. I would rather drive further to go to someplace we know will both be fantastic!

Been going here for many years. The lemon chicken is fabulous and it is never this good at any other place. Try it with the 10 ingredient rice. Great combo. Lots of food. Take home left overs - just as good warmed up. Bon appetite!
