We recently purchased a house with a yard irrigation system and needed spring startup and backflow check. The control box had a sticker with Hydro Dynamics contact information on it, so we tried to contact them. We emailed them through direct email, and received no response. Then we tried using the “Contact Us” link on the website to request service…still no response. Then one day out of nowhere, a service person left a voicemail saying “I’ll be there in 5 minutes”. The man showed up and proceeded to look at backflow valve and pronounce that it was broken. He said the system was winterized improperly. We showed him a receipt from the previous owners showing that THEY had done the winterization last year! He said he didn’t have the correct tools to make the repairs and left. We then received a $150 bill…and nothing was done. We will be steering clear of this company forevermore!

Hydro Dynamics came out, assessed our issues with our control box and fixed it. Previous company said I needed to buy a new one. Mike also opened up our system and discussed with me what to do, he was so good. Very thorough! Thanks Mike and Hydro Dynamics for being a dependable source for our sprinkler system. We also have dogs and he secured all our gates before he left!

I do not trust and will not use this company again. Regular fraudulent charges on labor hours, astronomical prices, 3 or more service calls for the same issue and rude office workers. Not reliable and not reputable. Details below.

They regularly overcharge labor hours on service calls. They charge an additional 30 minutes over the actual time they work. So I guess I pay for their driving time too along with their "fuel surcharge". I call them to report the incorrect time and they will reluctantly adjust the bill, but even then to more than they were actually present at the property. They sigh or hang up on you and are very rude when you point out that they made a mistake (because it's not a mistake, it's intentional). Most recently I was charged 1 hour and 45 minutes for 1 hour and 8 minutes of work (5 minutes of which was the tech telling me how the previous tech was wrong in what he told me). At $125 per hour, that becomes frustrating. They will come up with every excuse to charge you more.

The schedulers don't know what they are doing. I asked for a tech for at least 6 hours of work to be done. The tech arrived at 4pm and told me he won't have time, he can only do part of it. I need to reschedule. So weeks later another person comes, who says the previous guy was wrong and he won't have time either and I have to call again to reschedule. Another 2+ week delay. Not once did they apologize for overcharging me or for turning one visit into three visits. You are just expected to take off as many days as they need and they will show up whenever. Could not recommend them less.
