Absolutely disgusting people, rude, racist workers. Never in my life have been treated the way independence Missouri recorder of deeds has treated me. Went two days back to back and they deny me. I went to record my paperwork, they tried to tell me how to file and that I had to file my paperwork separately when I told them it was one document. Discriminated against me calling me a “sovereign “ in which I’m not or do not associate myself as. Still was rude, smoke to my child disrespectfully and kept rolling their eyes, telling me why did I come at the last min, told me they weren’t filing my paperwork over and over again. Nasty attitudes, loud, disrespectful, cut you off at every point you talk, everyone refused to give me their names, refused to give me the directors name and contact information. Never again! I be glad when they open the downtown location up again! Now I can’t file my paperwork!

Most of the workers are so rude, especially over the phone which I don’t understand mam if you don’t like your job why are you there? Don’t tell them thank you they will just hang up on your face.

I am a wedding officiant and have my wedding chapel/ venue across the street from this courthouse and deal with the Recorder of Deeds office on a daily basis. Closed down the court house for 10 days due to covid-19? Perfectly understandable. Not having a phone message explaining it's closed or having any notice on the courthouse website? Completely absurd and just plain lazy

The courthouse is closed until 9/21 due to active COVID cases. Fun to learn this on the doorstep! I haven't been able to find any notice of it online, so that was a pain.

Recorder of Deeds office is extremely friendly, helpful, and fast. Really appreciate having such prompt service.
