Greenhouse Jewel Box reviews
12Beautiful wedding reception venue! After we booked the Jewel Box, however, I found there were very few, if any, photos of the Jewel Box set up for a reception. Most of the photos were of a wedding ceremony setup or just the interior or exterior. I hope that these photos might help someone else who is renting the Jewel Box for a wedding reception. 60" round tables are provided but we did end up renting additional 72" tables to accommodate seating more than 8 people at a table. Very little additional decoration was necessary! No wifi available, so for music you will need to download it first. Pictures both inside and outside were gorgeous. The lighting was beautiful upon arrival for dinner and as the sun went down it was a perfect ambience for dancing. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because you the reception rental time is 6 p.m. To midnight, but in order to have time to set up beforehand, you need to pay the additional rental fee for the wedding ceremony window of 4 p.m. To 6 p.m. And you have to do all of the coordination with the various vendors. I highly recommend the Jewel Box for a wedding reception!
My Husband and I got married at The Jewel Box in October 2022, and I could not have asked for a better experience! The facility was beautiful, the weather cooperated wonderfully, and getting married in a huge greenhouse was a dream come true. The time constraints for our rehearsal and 1.5 hour ceremony window were a bit tough, but since everything is so gorgeous we didn't need to decorate anything at all.
From a wedding photographer's perspective, the Jewel Box is a beautiful venue for either ceremony or reception. Such a wonderful place to have greenery year round!
I belong to the St. Louis Water Garden Society (SLWGS). I am a volunteer that helps care for the lilies/water plants every Saturday in the 3 reflecting ponds in front of the Jewel Box during the Spring and Fall. Our club had our annual banquet inside the Jewel Box this past Tuesday. It gives the other members a chance to see the work we do in the ponds which anyone can enjoy when they visit the Jewel Box.
Way more comfortable than I was expecting! Nice place to rest and relax when taking long walks thru the park in a hot day.
Bathrooms are clean, and the whole experience is worth the $1 entrance fee.
Not much variety and different than what it used to be. Seems like it was redesigned to focus more on events and less on showcasing cool plants. Spent maybe 5 minutes in here and saw it all. Not worth $1. Cool architecture though and a classic building.
This so seriously cool I wish Kansas City would have something up that would even come close to this
I was expecting something more with the remodeling. The building is pretty but the plants were a disappointing. I'm sure it's nice for an event or a wedding. The fountain in the center is a waste of space and water runs all over the floor.
Wonderful quick stroll and view of beautiful plants you can’t grow in a garden in the Midwest
Plus the staff guy was super nice!
Also epic potential for intimate wedding vibes
This is no longer of any interest to children. It is now an event center for adults. The makeover it got took away all the charm it once had.
The Jewel Box in Forest Park is a lovely horticultural greenhouse with lovely displays throughout the year. They are open:
Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. To 4 p.m.
Friday from 9 a.m. To 3 p.m.
Saturday, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Sunday, from 9 a.m. To 2 p.m
Admission is $1 per person, but it is free on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. Until noon.
A lovely treat inside and out, especially in late Spring and summer when the lily pond is active and the outdoor flowers are bursting in bloom!
A Saint Louis treat in beautiful Forest Park.
I had my wedding here on February 4,2023 and it was perfect. I got so many compliments on the venue. The man working on the night of my rehearsal was very kind and knowledgeable when I had questions. The doors were even open early for both my rehearsal and wedding, and that was so appreciated with it being chilly outside. I would 100% recommend having your wedding ceremony at the Jewel Box.
