I wasnt here very long, but the manager was super cool and even met us after hours to show us our spot. It was quiet.but we didnt really stay long enough to enjoy anything there. I'd probably revisit in the summer.

The service was top notch! It is a city camp ground so there is a lot of road noise. If you are just passing through it is a good Lil spot to stop at.

We’ve stayed at this campground several times when we needed to be in Kansas City. We had a full hook up pull through site. The site was level and we had no issues with the hook ups. There was plenty of room between the sites and even some tall bushes to give a bit of privacy. It’s right off I70 so it was very easy access. There are two large truck stops at the exit so gassing up with easy. There’s also an amazing Blue Beacon truck wash where we had our truck and trailer washed. The only downside of this campground is the road noise from I70. If that’s not something that bothers you, this is great place to stay.

We didn't stay here but the place was nice, had a pool & also had cabins if you don't have an RV. It was a bit pricey, over $70 a night so we went somewhere else, it's a little further out but just as nice & at half the price.

Nice restrooms and showers, nice area to walk the dogs, a little bit expensive but KOAs usually are. We will be back when we're in the area.

We were traveling from Boise Idaho to Hudson Florida, with our 5th wheel dry due to cold weather, arrived in Kansas City, hadn't had a shower in 2 days, asked to fill up tanks so we could stop down the road and shower. They allowed us to fill up, and use their shower facilities no charge! Very nice clean park, friendly.definitely stop again next time as paying guest! Thank you!

This KOA is a decent enough campground. Our spot had a patio with a swing and grill. Unfortunately all the bushes on the site were dead.

The campground is right next to the highway which is very noisy.

KOA’s never fail to impress, with each location unique, yet familiar, they are the first choice for camping when possible. This was our first trip to this particular location and it was easy to setup our travel trailer and enjoy the weekend. The sites were meticulously maintained, providing everything we needed and more. The grounds were clean and beautifully landscaped, with staff routinely making rounds to collect trash so that guests were not burdened by the task, or bothered by the smell/sight of a nearby dumpster. The staff is truly amazing and service is top notch. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

So we all understand that KOA campgrounds are going to be a little more expensive than your traditional campground, but there's a good reason why. The East Kansas City KOA in Oak Grove has miniature golf, a jumping pad for the kids, a gem mining station, general store, basketball court and more. Local barbeque can be delivered directly to your sight and it would appear they offer long term stays and RV storage. This campground is just a short drive from my home, and when I want to get the RV out and spend the night away from home, this has been a great spot to fulfill my needs. I'm new to RVing, so I don't have a lot of experience with a lot of different campgrounds, but I enjoy staying here. Be warned, it's located right off I-70, so the sound of the interstate is noticable, but it's never bothered me. Just thought that those that are sensitive to ambient road noise might like to know.

Right next to the freeway and you can hear trucks all day and night. It's well maintained and the people are nice but seriously it's loud. I don't think we will be back

Wonderful place. Can't wait to go back. Got to last minute reservation and one of the last spots. It's a very clean facility. Very safe. Very laid back. Lots of fun activities like mini golf, trampoline, jumping of swimming pool, great hookups, cool staff close to Kansas City. I'm really really super happy to be here

We have been to several campgrounds over the years and honestly, this one blew me away. What an incredible experience in very challenging conditions. We had been on the road for several hours, in heavy rain and high winds, when we arrived, Lois was absolutely incredible! Went out of her way to show us a top notch KC BBQ that delivered to the campsite, stayed open a little late to make sure our younger kids had ice cream as a desert. Jim braved all of the rain to get us to our spot and hand delivered ice and firewood for the next days adventure. I highly recommend giving this place a shot. What a great experience!

Thank you all so much!

Nice wooded grounds. Very clean and maintained. Sites are fairly level but on the narrow side. Not much grass. Very close to busy and noisy highway.

Always a good place for sushi. One of these days I'm going to try their hibachi items, but their sushi is pretty much too good to resist.

Stayed for the weekend. Staff could not have been nicer. Kids had a blast (and burned a lot of energy) on the pedal go-kart track. Hosted my daughter's birthday party at our campsite on Saturday. We had a pull through spot with a great large concrete patio, fire ring, patio furniture, and a nice newer large gas grill. Kids were disappointed the jumping pillow does not go up until May when the pool opens. There is construction going on currently and looks like they are updating a lot of their buildings/campsites. We had family stay in one of the small cabins. It was very clean, decore was cute, and they said the mattresses were comfortable. We did not use the campground bathrooms/showers so cannot speak to them. This is a city campground close to KC activities. If highway noise bothers you this may not be the campground for you. It didn't bother us and it was a nice weekend getaway spot close to home. We would stay there again.

For as long as my husband and I have been together - fifteen years now - we have almost always traveled and stayed at KOA campgrounds. Their reputation is a safe, family friendly environment that provides a clean, trustworthy home away from home. Management greets you at check-in, then checks in during your stay, and wants to make sure that your needs are met, offering solutions for local dining, activities, and what not as you vacation. But oh, let me count the ways that KOA of Oak Grove has broken the mold and ruined my rose-colored glasses.
First: good luck making a reservation. If you're expecting to stay over 21 days (as a travel nurse, my job requires lengthy contracts that sometimes stretch on for months at a time), you must call the office to schedule with management. Anything under that time can be reserved online, and since that requires no effort of the current park owner, you should be golden. It was a week.count it: seven days.before I finally made contact. I called during office hours for multiple days in a row, leaving a voice message each time, and each time growing more and more frustrated. I emailed to no avail, and on my final voice message, I simply stated, "since you're not actually open during your posted office hours, just let me know either way if you've got a spot, and if I don't hear from you today, I'll find a different location. " I thought I'd call one last time before moving closer to Kansas City (where I'm actually contracted) to find a "safe" campground for my travel trailer. I happened to catch the park manager, and he claimed he "was just about to call [me] back". He told me that since this (02/19 - 03/20) was his off-season, he would upgrade me to a deluxe pull-through so I wouldn't have to back my trailer in, seeing as I would be arriving at night.
Check my Part II - V, uploaded as photos, since my "character limit" has been exceeded. I've got lots to say!

We stayed at this KOA during a weekend trip to see the Kansas City Cheifs. We had our 3 boys with us. They absolutely loved the setup of this camp as there was plenty of room for them to run and play; with an open field, a basketball hoop, a playground, and much more! It is pretty close to the highway but we didn't notice much noise from it! Highly recommend!

Always have a great time when I'm here! Especially since they reopened the swimming pool! Now i hear rumors of pedal cars coming. How fun!
