I am just blown away by what an AMAZING experience adopting through KC pet project. We adopted our sweet pup this afternoon and they were so helpful throughout the entire process. You can tell they genuinely care for their animals and want the best for them.

After getting home we were experiencing behavioral issues between our old and new dog. I called the behavioral counselor and she picked up immediately and guided us through next steps and advice for our two dogs.

I am seriously so impressed with KC pet project!

We adopted a dog here s free days ago We had to look online at the dogs up for adoption and we got to meet the ones we were interested in. Then we made our choice. Worked well for us! We still have a ways to go but we got off on the right foot!

Found a new fuzzy friend. Everyone helpful and friendly. The animals were well cared for and the facility is clean and well kept. All homeless pets should have this level of care.

Staff was unfriendly and unwilling to allow visiting different dogs to find my forever friend. At the old location on Raytown Trafficway I was able to visit all the available dogs before choosing one.and the staff was friendly.
They spent all that money to build this New beautiful building but they left the compassion and people skills on the hill!

This place will cause you nothing but stress and upset Ness. I was told I could take cat home, week later then pushed out surgery and still said by 2 managers that could take home. Foster originally said got approved, than 2nd time she called right after I did said they said cant take home yet, then I call up there same day they just told me yes then tell me got to wait another week. I been dealing with calls all day then HEATHER called again after I told was done with conversation for the day we already resolved to tell me because the way I talked to her they no longer were gonna let me be a cat dad? After all you did i was still willing to do business but when someone upsets you by speaking to you upset you lose your professionalism? What kind of person or place is this? I waited days to hear back but everyone else I talked to was atleast nice or pleasant. HEATHER called me to ruin my day and tell me bc the way I spoke to her I couldn't get cat ive been waiting so long for. I hope that she is no longer in adoptions because she is taking loving people away from animals that they already care for. SO UNPROFESSIONAL

Waited over an hour to view one dog with a kid and watched serval employees walking around helping other people or doing nothing. The staff was very rude and careless. I will never be back and would advise anyone considering to go else where.

My family and I went in today to look into adopting a dog. The person helping us said out of all the dogs there were only 2 dogs that would be a good fit for us. This was the first thing that raised a red flag for me, as we saw many dogs on the website that would have worked for us and I even mentioned them. We specifically said we could not adopt a pit bull due to being military and military base housing does not allow pit bulls. One of the two dogs she brought out clearly looked like a pit bull. I pointed this out and she said “She is listed a lab mix. Sometimes we won’t list pit bull to make dogs more adoptable. ”
This is extremely deceiving and unethical. There are many laws about pit bulls and you should be completely upfront and honest about a dog’s breed.

I rescued my beautiful girl Angel the Moscovy Duck from them and they were absolutely amazing! Angel is so sweet despite her disability.

We adopted a kitten here this past summer for the first time from KC Pet Project. We will absolutely be coming back again for future pets. Great service, great foundation, great price!

Very good experience! All the animal appeared to be very well taken care of. Every staff member we saw had a mask on. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. If you are looking for a new furry family member I highly recommend KC pet project. Robbin helped us finalize everything before we took our new family member home. She was lovely to work with.

If you're coming with no intention of getting a cute puppy, avoid at all costs. Coming inside will immediately trigger any pet lover into immediate "oos" and "ahs" and there's a 93.7% chance you will leave with a new furry friend.

Excellent staff, spectacular facility, and the work they're doing is incredible.

Me and my fiancé were highly interested in a dog that was brought in and put on stray hold. We were told that we could see her Sunday since she would be pulled off of stray hold then. We were told we could put money down to hold her in the meantime. We don’t live close and wasn’t able to go up there just to put money down so we asked if we could show up when they open Sunday. They told us that she may be in surgery, I am a vet tech and know how long spay surgery’s take I was okay with waiting if that was the case. We called several times about her to make sure no one claimed her yet and verified 3 different times with three different workers and they all said they opened at 9am on Sunday. The staff was also very rude when we had called, we asked about making an appointment time that morning because it was a bit of a drive and they said they don’t do appointments, which is fine but we had told them that we would still be there at 9am to see her and no one had the decency to tell us that I couldn’t see her until after noon and that was still if she wasn’t in surgery at that time. We showed up at 9am with our current dog so they could meet and weren’t able to get in. So we drove a very long distance to see this dog first thing in the morning in hopes of seeing her before her surgery so we could adopt her that day if it did worked out. I would have waited but I brought my personal dog and couldn’t sit in the car for 3 hours or more with her.

Adopted my cat from the KC location, and was sent home with my cat and his paper work. Upon getting him home, I noticed he was walking oddly, and seemed in pain. When I got him they told me he was FIV positive. I called the adoption center back about two hours after having him, and asked if he was injured or they forgot to tell me his entire medical history. I was connected to the vet office, where I was informed he also had a healed right back leg injury that left him with some arthritis and muscle atrophy, he required medication for the pain they’d failed to send me home with, and he also had dental disease. The staff has overall been helpful since, but the oversight was very frustrating.

Picked up a dog walking along the side of the road late last night. Neither my friend or I could take the dog in so we tried the vet on the rabies tag but they were closed - and closed until Monday. We ended up calling KC Pet Project after hours. Unfortunately they were unable to meet us so we brought in the pup into our garage overnight with food, water and a comfortable mat. We brought the animal to KC Pet Project today in hopes of finding a microchip- sure enough there was one! They connected with the owners and allowed us to take the dog to their owner directly. If the dog did have a chip, they would taken him in, free of charge. Recommend using KC Pet Project for all their services! Thanks!

I have yet to have a bad experience at any KC Pet Project location. The animals are ALWAYS well taken care of and loved and is exceptional among shelters! The 2 pets we have adopted from there have been wonderful additions to our tribe!
