Life Storage - St Charles

Life Storage is easy to deal with, there is always a person in the office (business hours). Units are in great shape. Doors are easy to open and close.

So far everything has been a great experience, the registration, demonstration of system, and cleanliness.

I have been using this life storage for almost 3 years now. The owner Chris is very helpful and really nice. I don't know if a new owners took over but I am beyond frustrated. My unit was $180 a month, and I saw a bill this past month for $265 dollars. They stated they sent an email with a price increase. I'm on my email daily, no email was sent. I understand prices increase but almost $100 increase with no notice. I live 13 hours away from my unit. They refused to forward me the email stating the increase in price because they never informed me to begin with so there was nothing to forward. After over drafting my account and refusing to take off the late fee and charging me way over our contracted price, I will never go back to this company.

Every experience with an employee of extra space/life storage is always pleasement, in person or over the phone. Every quetsion can always answer with ease

It's clean and the staff is friendly. I've only been here a couple times since I just obtained a unit here. It's currently Friday evening and someone is playing the drums quite loudly in a closed unit. Don't know what to think.

The ability to get a storage unit on such short notice was great. It calmed a worry that had a major impact on impending move.

I had a great experience. The guy working in the office is great he help me out alot. He showed me 2 different sizes that I wasn't sure of when I was looking online.

Life Storage & Manager Chris is an absolute pleasure to work with. I have been renting a space for over a year. Chris made it simple to work with while out of the country for business. Also, keep me ahead and let me know the arrangements ahead. Overall, Life Storage & Manager Chris made it easier for me to maintain my storage unit & are excellent at communication. I recommend anyone looking for a space to rent to utilize Life Storage, because they are there to help you.

Chris is the absolute best! I have never in my life experienced customer service like this. When I deal with not only him, but ANY personnel from Life Storage…I’m no an always treated with kindness and they (especially Chris) always look out for my best interest. Your kindness’s will never be forgotten.

I want to say a big THANK YOU to Amber Johnson for the fantastic customer service I ever received. She was detail-oriented, explained everything I should know, and showed me the plant's surrounding areas. She was very kind and knowledgeable, and I appreciate employees like that. The place is very clean and staff very professional.

We have a very nice unit in the air conditioned indoor area. The owner is always pleasant. The price is competitive.

Initially when we called about a unit they offered a free lock. Thinking we had the correct type, we declined the free offer. Upon arriving we realized we had a different type and they said they could no longer honor the free lock offer given just an hour ago. They obviously didn’t owe us anything but realized that offer was to get us in the door. Anyway one month into agreement I thought we had autopay set up. Apparently not so my access code was denied to enter the building. I went online and paid right away. Access code didn’t activate still. That’s interesting because if you initially lease a unit online, you get immediate access without needing to speak with someone. Anyway, there was a family moving things into the unit so since I figured I’d just head to my unit. They also put a lock on my lock! So can’t get into my unit. Luckily I’m here during posted business hours right? Wrong! Saturday 1130am (posted open time) the store is closed. No signage giving a reason why. Anyway won’t be utilizing this facility much longer.

GREEDY AND DECEPTIVE! I called more than once and asked about the grace period. Five days. I moved out exactly Five days after the end of my contract. They falsified the collection dispute amount and the date. No I wasn't going to pay another month! Lowered my credit 100 pts. Cost me 2% more to borrow money on a car loan. My attorney said I met the terms of the contract. Supposed to be climate controlled. It gets very hot and cold in there. They said temperature and humidity aren't part of the climate! Keep looking!
