Lutz's BBQ, Jefferson City MO

My family has tried this place many times. I remember the one in Columbia was always good, and nice folks. However after our recent experiences at the Jeff city location, we won’t be returning. We’ve recently went there on 3 different occasions to get sweet potato fries. This most recent time did it for us. Paid almost $20 for two orders of fries, and a tip of course. However we received only one box, and when I ask about it they tell us they put it in once box. The other times they came in two different boxes. My husband likes sugar and cinnamon on his, and I prefer salt so that’s why we always get two different orders. Why would you put two differently seasoned fries in the same box? Not only that, they were undercooked a tad, had not ONE pinch of any seasoning on the fries, and paying $20 for “two” orders of fries you’d think they’d be made greatly. We’ll be eating at como fire from now on, they have better meats, better selection and amazing customer service. I’d recommend the same, save yourself the drive if you’re coming from other areas.

After misplacing my order, I finally get my to-go order 30 minutes later. I get home and open the box of pulled pork and what do I see.sliced turkey. Hmmm, not what I expected from what others describe as the best bbq in town.

When is the last time you ate bbq at a gas station? This place is always hopping over the lunch hour, so get here early. I recommend the burt ends sandwich and the homemade potato chips. Throw a little creamy coleslaw on that sandwich and you’ve got yourself a winner- pickles and onions on the side. Nothing fancy here, just great food.

Lutz catered our wedding and it was great! The phone conversations to plan the menu and organize the timing were informative and helpful to what we needed. We had boxes of their amazing chips for appetizers and they served brisket and pulled pork for dinner. Everything tasted great, they arrived right on time and everything was set up very organized, our guests gave a lot of compliments!

The did is always spot on. I get the pork steak bakery and they are always super tender. The chips they make cannot be beat and I love the Cajun seasoning on my chips. I would send anyone there who wants great BBQ.

Love this place! You can't beat the service and the food is amazing! I hope to continue dining at Lutz's for many years to come!

Best Pulled Pork in town; every resturaunt has that ONE thing that makes you remember the experience, when it comes to the words "Pulled Pork" & "Jefferson City" - the name Lutz's belongs in the conversation.
