Mama Loca's Cafe and Cantina reviews
15So cute, so nice and so good! The atmosphere is really comfortable, the staff and owners were very welcoming and prompt and the food was amazing!
This family owned Mexican Food restaurant is a rare find in small town America. Not only are the sidewalk and front foyer windows beautifully arranged to set the theme for this diner, but the inside table seating and bar stools are so darn comfortable and the place has the vibe of a home away from home. The rear outside garden with patio tables and outdoor lounging area is a place I would hang out each pleasant spring, summer, and fall evening while sipping a beer or fancy tropical drink while munching on the best chips and homemade salsa served in the great state of Missouri. Tonight though, I sampled an American mainstay dish - cheeseburger and fries. Mama Loca serves hers on Texas Toast. It is a World Series night so naturally she hit it outta the park! What a fabulous comfort food meal! The owners are committed to creating fresh, delicious, and fun meals with a full bar service accompanied by friendly banter and smiles. No wonder this small town eatery located on US 160 is a destination for so many.
I got 3 things to say good service good people and good food and god brews are troops and start your engines
Great place for a drive to dine in the country. Fantastic owners. Friendly courteous staff. Great food & atmosphere.
Mama Loca’s has a great atmosphere, food, and drinks. If the weather is to your liking, you can dine in their cute garden outside. The adult beverages are top-notch, and crafted with care. They say that it is “a social place, ” and it certainly is; the owners are very friendly and kind. I am not from the area, but can see where this could be a favorite spot to hang out, if your proximity is accommodating. Stop in and check it out, and do not forget to try the dessert!
First time here, stopped in for lunch, atmosphere was calming, it's lunchtime and there's plenty of space and staff are extremely attentive, food to me was on point, fresh, hot, and delectable. Well definitely return when back in the area
A quaint little place with great food and exceptional service. Both owners were on site, but our sweet server has only been there for 2 weeks. Salsa is hot, without being overly so, and food was hot and delicious. Hubby had a taco salad and me the chicken fajita bowl. It's Mexican with a twist (meaning some other things as well). Then, on the warmer days, they even have a back patio to enjoy. We will be back
We had an awesome time at Mama Loca's. The owners are gracious hosts. We had great food and real country music with 2COUNTRY4NASHVILLE from Nashville, TN.playing live that evening.
We always stop in here on our way through town. The food is delicious and never disappoints. We have only had selections from the Mexican food side so I can’t speak to their other options. Had the fried tacos this last time and they were fantastic. Crispy but not hard. Had plenty of meat and toppings. Like so many other places they are limiting the free chips and salsa to one bowl each then charging for extra. This isn’t a problem as long as you plan ahead or know you will pay for extra. They have rising costs just like the rest of us! Looking forward to our next visit already!
This place was delicious! I went on a whim last Saturday and found the wait staff very friendly and had a lovely conversation with the managers. I can't wait to go back and try their pizza with Thai Basil. I hear it's to die for! Btw, the margarita was the best I've ever had
We ate here years ago and fell in love with the owners and ambiance. We happened to catch them open last week (they have odd hours and we live 30 miles away), They do traditional Mexican, but also do a pop-up pizza buffet lunch. It's fantastic!
My Dad just moved to Greenfield, so we'll definitely go back!
We accidentally found this place, while we were in Ash Grove. Great place, great atmosphere. Our waitress was very nice, and never let us run out of drinks. She was very polite and did a great job. The food was really good, and plenty. This was a great find for us, we will make the trip back.
First time to try the pizza and salad bar today and it was great, just like every meal we’ve had here. Great atmosphere and great service!
Not only was this great food, but the staff was amazing. Our waitress never stopped, and always checked on us. This is a great place to go, if you are just looking to get away.
This was my first time in Ash Grove so I checked out the eating establishments in town. This place got good reviews. So, I thought, sounds good. When we walked in the door, the atmosphere seemed pretty nice. The server seated us right away. We took a look at the menu and decided on Taco salads. We also got a bowl of the queso dip. That came out in a tiny bowl. It tasted more like a generic brand jar of queso that they heated up a little bit. Not horrible but definitely not great. The taco salads came out. The flour tortilla bowls have been overcooked so they didn't taste very good. They had a little bit of taco meat lettuce and tomatoes and a little bit of cheese. Mine had sour cream. Like the queso, it wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. We both chose water to drink. The big shock was when we got the bill. 35 bucks! I've had better food at Taco Bell for a third of the price. Maybe we chose the wrong menu item. I really don't think there's a chance we'll go back.
