Mid-County Family YMCA reviews
19The location is so convenient. The staff is amazing. I love all the programs they have for kids.
Love the friendly, welcoming staff at the front desk!
Love the classes!
(Wish Terri W held classes two days/week as she used to.)
Great atmosphere great swimming pools very clean very polite staff very nice facility for a family or a single person living by themselves. Great youth activities along with Recreation for adults
Basketball court is always taken up for handball or aerobics in the evenings, and your are left with less than a hour to play due to events lasting close to when the facility closes at 9pm. Staff shuts off court lights at 8: 30pm. Aerobics and other events occupying court until 8pm mostly. I find this location not a good location to play recreational basketball.
Ms. Maria has been a great asset to morning latchkey. Always positive, upbeat and engaging each morning! Includes every child! Way to go Ms. Maria!
The deep water aquatics program has assisted me to be active with quality low impact workouts. Joan delivers top notch, adaptable aquatic workouts that challenge and strengthen me. I have developed a strong core and increased mobility at the Mid-County YMCA.
Joan does a fantastic job teaching water aerobics! She is always upbeat and keeps you motivated!
Gail, who just retired. Made our class so special and personal. She was a great teacher as well as a friend to all of us. She will be missed a lot
First time there, yesterday. Was disappointed that the machines in the corners around the elevated track were not functional. I would have used a recumbent bike if they had been. Everything else was fine.
First my family calls to verify pool is open but once we checked in the lady say oh before you go to locker room the pool is not open for families on weekend very unprofessional we will not be returning
Very good staff and good facilities. Only inconvenience was one Saturday morning when they did not open at the time they were supposed to.
I'm learning English in Y for free. Teachers are so kind that I enjoy learning. Y take care of my little daughter while I'm learning. If she wanna stay with me, I can take a lesson with her. It's nice for me, mother!
Love this Y! Folks are always friendly, space is always clean, and its a joy getting to go there - Almost makes working out enjoyable!
The classes have made a big difference in my overall fitness. I am 67 years old and realize that being fit is how to live as an older adult. The classes welcome those new to an exercise program and accommodates all abilities.
I teach at two YMCAs. My favorite happens to be Mid-County. Gary Hirssig, the Health and Wellness Director, is a big part of why I love going there:) He is so, so friendly and caring. If you ask to get something done, it's done fast. No waiting around wondering when you will have a fan to keep you cool while you teach. No worry about having batteries for the mic because there is always extras available. And you don't seek Gary out he seeks you out by coming by while you are teaching and giving a great big friendly wave with a smile to match. Now that's a great Director!
My son attended the summer camp and it was a wonderful experience we will continue for years to come. The entire staff is very helpful and friendly and make it feel very inviting.
Love the new layout of the Midcounty Y! I find myself visiting more than usual, from working out in the gym to sweating in the very spacious sauna, it’s a win win all around!
The camp director was very sarcastic and rude. Also not at all knowledgeable about the program. Told me he was new and this was a much bigger program than he was used to and seemed overwhelmed. Very concerning.
I have been a member of the Y for many years. My membership at the Mid-County location is roughly about 3 years old. My participation has been really lax over the past several months, so recently decided to pay the center a visit. It was to my surprise that something new had been added. Lots of new fitness equipment an update had been made to the flooring, the welcome counter had been reconfigured. It was a pleasant surprise overall. I was disappointed with myself that I had stayed away so long! Thanks for making the space so renewed and inviting!
