(missed cancer diagnosis)
I saw 3 primary care doctors here last year (Younus, McClure, Bierenbaum) Several specialists as well. I had contracted covid for the first time, and I had 12 plus symptoms. Multiple ER visits, tests, scans- checked by the radiologists here.

Every single one of the PCP's I begged for help missed the one in a million cancerous tumor in my chest. Sitting above my heart. It's present in every scan I received here. I have never been treated so terrible and disregarded with such ease. This is why women die every year, this system is broken. I am fortunate to have excellent health insurance, and a family to fight to survive for. I self-advocated for 6 months prior to my diagnosis. Medical gaslighting is real. Patients deserve better than ego, and condescending lip service.

I ended up going to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, and meeting one of the best surgeons in the country. He saved my life, and gave me a second chance to have a life with my family.

Believe women.go to another hospital.

Labor and delivery went well until we got back to the room. The first nurse that was showing us how to get the baby to latch put her fingers in her mouth to show us how the babies lips need to be positioned, and then put her fingers straight into my babies mouth to flip his lips back like she had just done her own. She did so without putting on a glove or washing her hands so immediately I had a problem withen an hour of the baby being born.the nurse had put her germs directly into my newborns mouth!

shortly after being born since he came early they had us in a warm room with a incubation set up to keep him warm, they told us if he couldn't maintain his temperature or if it dropped again we would have to go to the Nicu.we were in there for an hour or two and he maintained a steady temperature until they came in and decided that we needed to move rooms. So they moved us to a room that was about 15° colder probably 67° and they took away the incubation set up.obviously within 20 minutes his temperature dropped and they said they had to take him to the Nicu! We would've been perfectly fine if they had left us in the room we were in or at least left him in the warmer until the new room got up to temperature.at the nicu they seemed to handle him OK.like most new mothers my wife was having trouble producing milk, so it really bothered me when I caught them at least 2 times wasting a whole bottle of breastmilk because they forgot to feed it to him or it got left out by one of the nurses.so he got fed formula instead, and being 4 pounds it is very important for him to get breast milk rather than formula!

finally out of the nicu into the upstairs area, they put us in a room that had plastic taped over the window so you could feel the outside air coming in and smell the highway. When it came time for his hearing test the nurse that administered it started it when he was crying and was very rough with him she flipped him from side to side and pulled on his ears pretty roughly so he's crying intensified throughout the whole test and he failed the hearing test. I was then told he can fail the hearing test by screaming.and I would have to get another one done at a later time because it is state required. At that time I had talked to a manager about the nurse handling my baby and how the test went and asked them to just give him another one while he was there since he was there for weeks.they said we had to go get it done elsewhere at a later time but it would be covered by insurance or them.it's months down the road we did the second hearing test insurance covered most of it but we're being sent to collections for $600 for a hearing test that they messed up the first time due to negligence!

I have very few good things to say about Missouri Baptist Hospital. After my mother was admitted into the hospital after being in the ER. The next day I went into her room and found the trash can located at the door to her room full to the top. Now this was a rather large trash can (at least 30 inches high and about 12-18 inches wide) and it appeared that it had not been emptied in quite awhile. Also, there was food on her pillow cases and blanket that should have been replaced with clean linens. I spoke to the nurse about this and she stated that she would get the tech in right away to change out the linens. I was there for about 3 hours and no tech showed up. I had to change out the pillow cases and blanket myself before I left for the night. After doing so I placed the dirty linens on a counter near the window and closet. Those dirty linens remained in the same spot for a week until the day that my mother was supposed to be discharged. I asked my mother if anyone had been in to sweep and/or mop the floor and she said no. The day of her discharge is when housekeeping finally came into her room to do some cleaning and remove the dirty linens. Furthermore, My mother was there for about a week and a half with no shower and/or sponge bath. The day of her discharge I requested that she get a shower before taking her to the rehabilitation facility. The nurse did not wash her hair and only wiped her body down with a wash cloth. The care that my mother received from such a so called GREAT HOPSITAL! Was extremely unsatisfactory and I would not ever recommend this hospital.

I hope this review finds you well. I am writing to share my recent experience at your hospital and provide feedback on the service I received during my visit. Firstly, I want to commend the front entrance staff for their friendly demeanor and efficient assistance. They promptly attended to me and ensured that I was directed to the back without any delay. Their professionalism was truly appreciated. However, once in the back, I encountered a significant issue with waiting time. Despite arriving with severe leg pain, which prompted my visit to the hospital, I had to wait for two hours before being seen by a doctor. This extended waiting period was quite frustrating and left me feeling anxious about my condition. When the doctor finally arrived, he inquired about my leg pain and asked if I wanted a scan. However, due to the excessive waiting time, I expressed my concerns and explained that I had been waiting for an extended period already. Consequently, I requested to see my own doctor instead of proceeding with the scan and wanted leave immediately. While this experience was not ideal, it is important for me to provide feedback so that improvements can be made. Waiting for such a long duration can be distressing for patients in need of urgent care. I hope you will take this feedback into consideration and implement measures to reduce wait times and improve overall patient experience at your hospital. As someone who believes in your institution's commitment to quality healthcare, it is my sincere hope that steps will be taken towards ensuring prompt attention and care for all patients. Thank you for taking the time to read this review.

Highly recommend the outpatient surgery center. I can’t say enough good things about the team, from the nurses to the anesthesiologists. Amazing care all around!

I really can't say enough about how wonderful the nurses, techs, therapists and staff were when my Mom was there recently for a knee replacement surgery. They were so attentive, nurturing, kind, sweet, knowledgeable and all good things! I'd like to do something for them - they just made a tough experience SO much better. Thank you so much!

I was born and raised and Saint Louis and have never been so impressed with a hospital, like I am with Missouri Baptist. I have always had bad experiences. However Missouri Baptist changed that for me. The care and attention to detail was nothing short of amazing. I came in with a number of issues and they were extremely thorough with tests. I want to personally thank NP Maurine Free-Huber, I’ve never felt so comforted and heard. This will be my forever hospital

By far the worst experience of my life! If I could give them negative stars I would! I am a healthcare worker, so I know how things are supposed to be. I was there for a quick surgery. Over the course of 3 days I was lied to repeatedly, made to wait for pain medicine, and ignored. Hopefully they “worked on” being better caregivers.

I had my say but it got too long. So, I start over and make it brief. I have read all the other reviews and they have said everything I would say. Every word of it is true with one exception: In ER the people have always been fine. They showed the patience of Job when they had to repeat to a patient who does not hear well and offered help where it was needed. No problem in ER. The food was inedible. It really was unchewable. I don't know what it was but it was not chewable. It was like chewing shoe leather and I am not stretching he truth. Of course no one showed any concern that I was not eating. So I went hungry. That didn't hurt me.

Now the good. There is one excellent group at MoBap. That hard working group? The young people that someone told me are just out of high school. Those young people showed more concern, more sensitivity, more courtesy for my needs than anyone. They knew how I hurt and tried to do what they were allowed to do which, of course, wasn't much. They weren't even allowed to say "good morning" and "how are you feeling? " A voice out in the hall said "no talking". A simple morning greeting is not allowed any more. But they were great. Thank you, my friends. Just seeing that young people still know how to behave. That almost makes the rest bearable. Almost.

Now will someone please tell me what has happened to the old Missouri Baptist Hospital? From where did all this meanness come? This unhappiness among employees that brings out such behavior> That is the foundation of any business that does not work right. Where is Missouri Baptist? What I have experienced and, as the reviews show many others are experiencing is not it.

Good bye. I will not trouble you any more.

Giving 5 stars only because of the Interventional radiology. Thank u Dr. Hardwood and his colleagues for making my surgery a good one. Thank u Stacy for calling me making sure I’m ok and getting things I need for a recovery and to head on to work ok. This journey has been a pleasant one from start to finish.

The process was a smooth one from registration, labs, and finally surgery.

The nurses think all the patients are as inept as they are. They have the degree but they still don't get it. As a nurse it's a few things you suposed to know. If you don't know be quiet. Dont spread lies. Don't insult the patients wby telling a falsehood.

My grandmother of 88 years just had heart surgery here today, everyone we spoke to was professional and kind. The procedure was quick and they kept us up to date the ENTIRE time. They took wonderful care of my grandma, hence why she has sworn by this hospital for years and years. I am pleased with the cleanliness and kindness expressed here. Thank you MoBap for taking great care of my lovely grammy? She will be returning home tomorrow, not even 24 hours after surgery. She is doing that wonderfully.

To anyone who has had a bad experience at mo bap, just kno ur claims are absolutely true. From miscommunication, wrong meds, nurses and techs not listening to concerns of the patient, right down to the surgeon being completely rude and uncaring, this was the worst experience anyone should ever have after a life saving surgery. Mistakes were made that were addressed with argumentative staff! So if after care is important to you, don’t go to this hospital. Too many young student/nurses that have no life experience running the show.

My husband was seen by a doctor within minutes of arriving with chest pain. They also did tests right away and they found that he was not having a heart attack at that moment. But he was having chest pain. He was then admitted for many more tests over Jan 4-6,2023. We were impressed how thorough they were! And the nurses on the cardiac section were awesome! Everyone communicated well with us. His main nurse really busted her tail to get him discharged on January 6th because it was our anniversary. We would.never go to any other hospital. Best in St. Louis!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Do not use this ER. I was there for 20 hours and was neglected while I watched other rooms get care. I’m not sure what it was about me that made them dislike me or decided I wasn’t worth caring for. I cried in the ER room wondering why I even came there to be ignored.

Maybe this Is not the hospital to go to if you’re queer. I can see every other room getting checked on and waited on. I’ve heard the room next to me get 3 coffees and snacks. I’ve pressed my call button 5 times because I haven’t eaten or drank since yesterday breakfast and I feel very faint. I'm seeing sparkles and feeling dizzy. Since no one would come to my room after hitting the call button multiple times. I unhooked myself and walked to the nurses station. When I started to tell Robyn I was faint and Dizzy and needed help she proceeded to pick up a phone and cut me off mid sentence. Only to watch me struggle standing there while she finished her clearly important call. Then never looked up at me and said “we‘ll check it. ” Never looked up at me and I slowly fumbled my way back to my room where I ended up falling and hitting my head since no one walked me back or even came to check on me. I Have a nice goose egg to show for it. After I fell and got back up on the bed no one came to check on me for 3 hours. Even though Robyn stated “we’ll check it” in regards to my blood sugar. I was only finally given care or attention when my heart rate shot to 185 and I was convulsing, struggling to breathe and lost control of my arms and legs for almost an hour due to hyperventilating they said. My hands curled up like crab claws and I couldn’t open them or lift my arms and legs. They informed me afterwards I had a very severe panic attic. WOW I wonder why that would be? Maybe because I’m at the ER asking for basic care and was dismissed like I wasn’t worth anything and was left unattended whilst faint and injured myself in their supposed care. I just can’t believe I was in an ER and no one attended to me when my machine was alarming saying my heart rate and blood pressure were both elevated enough to sound the alarm. I used my half claw hand to repeatedly hit the call button and no one came. I involuntarily started yelling and sobbing from the pain and fear before anyone actually come to the room. I have never had such a severe panic attack like this, I didn’t even recognize it as that. I truly thought I was going to die right then and there. I was checked into a room at 8: 30, doctor ordered MRI at 9am. I waited 12 hours for my MRI to be done at 9pm and then waited until 2: 15 am to be told they won’t have results for me and I can go home. Why did they make me wait 4 hours to tell me what they already knew which was that my results would not be ready. They also listed that they gave me more injections than what they actually did.

We are from out of state and so I stayed at the hospital with my mom. I have never experienced such great care. The nurses have made my mothers care after heart surgery a good experience. Thank God for these angels.

I will NEVER go to the ER here again. Alarm went on on machine- took 20 min to respond. Doc said he was going to call the heart surgeon to see if I needed to see him sooner than my scheduled appt- after1 1/2 hrs of waiting- unchecked, I just left. Go somewhere else this ER is horrible.
