Missouri Quilt Museum reviews
15 It was put together really well and very interesting.
In the off season (November through February) it is by appointment only.
Worth the stop even if you do not sew, I shared a few pictures but there is so much more to see. Even my husband enjoyed it.
Loved visiting the Museum. I enjoyed seeing all the machines especially the variety of small machines. Thank you Bob for all the information.
The quilt museum is a must see in Hamilton. Go to the Missouri Star shops for fabric but don’t miss the museum for inspiration
Museum is well-curated with permanent and rotating exhibits. Found some surprise treasures in the small museum gift shop.
And Bob, one man welcoming committee is just the best. Felt like I was visiting a friend.
Worth the stop. So many amazing quilts on display. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We met some nice people here as well. There are bathrooms if needed. It is an old school, so lots of stairs. Not sure if there is an elevator.
Bob was super helpful, recommended we eat at the bowling alley, which was really good! The quilt displays were varied, unique and enjoyable! The full scale and toy sewing machine displays were the most I have ever seen!
An absolute must-visit when in Hamilton! Out front you'll find the world's largest spool of thread - bring some thread and add to the spool! Inside, you'll find exhibit after exhibit.be sure to visit all 3 floors! Antique quilts, crazy quilts, vintage sewing machines, a gorgeous collection of antique toy sewing machines.there is so much here!
And be sure to ask about how to get your name on one of their bricks out front - put your name, buy a brick in honor of a quilter in your family, or have your quilt guild buy a brick!
A must see for those quilters out there! My wife is the quilter but I also really enjoyed this museum.
The staff were wonderful and knowledgeable. The exhibits are beautiful and kept in good condition. Great place would highly recommend going and spending an hour or 2.
Stopped here on our way home. The museum is an interesting work in progress, plus, has a gift shop with t-shirts and fabric at good prices. We were most impressed with the young quilting, curator Jackson. He has 3 quilts of his own on display. He knew all about the museum, plans of future exhibits, all about the Cherrywood challenge and what would be coming next. Meeting this young man gives me hope for the future. Really enjoyed our visit.
My wife and I were there today. A very informative, polite, and young man greeted us: Jackson. He had a wealth of knowledge about the museum. What a place. I wish my knees felt better!
A quilters fantasy land of quilts along with old and antique sewing machines. Nice thimble displays. Check out the Albert Einstein quilt.
The Missouri Quilt Museum is filled with so many beautiful quilts ranging in age from
the 1800's to today. There are a lot of other interesting items including sewing machines, thimble collections, and industrial machines. The Museum is in an old school building and I love they are incorporating the original school in their exhibits. For example, they use the chalk boards to display information about quilts on exhibit and they use lockers for a fun exhibit about quilt blocks. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this museum!
There was a young man (middle school age), Jackson, who was very friendly, knowledgeable and all around pleasant. I hope his parents see this review. They should be proud of the awesome young man they are raising!
I'm a quilter and I can say this place is worth the visit. Nestled in the old high school in Hamilton Missouri, three floors of history.
I enjoyed that they had several of them roped off which were truly stunning.
The room with the toy sewing machines was wild. I had no idea that toy sewing machine history goes back so far.
This is a great addition to exploring all of the quilt shops in town. Highly recommend taking the time to see this. The miniature quilts were my absolute favorite.
