Had an absolute greatest time there! I'm from Texas and this is probably the closest I can get to it! Great job Missouri State Fair!
It's a very nice fair. The people attending very nice to interact with. Had a very good time seeing Cory Asbury and Cain in concert.
You have to do:
Pig races
Ice cream with honey
Cattleman's ribeye sandwich
Go opening day
Great variety of things to see around Missouri’s agriculture industry. Fairgrounds needs more benches. More coffee kiosks selling good coffee drinks are needed.
Watching the FFA cattle show a lot of very nice cattle Judge is very good takes his time awesome
I don't recommend this campground for Katy Trail cyclists if you can avoid it. The campground is a massive mostly treeless field with bright lights on all night. In addition, the Owens Corning plant across the street makes significant noise 24 hours a day. There is no obvious signage when you arrive and little to no staff around outside the fair season and no useful details on their website so you have to search the entire massive complex to find the campground.
I was down here for the Missouri State Fair 4H Horse Show.
We camped and ate in our horse trailer. The fair grounds bathrooms could use a lot of attention. Showers appear to be discusting. Grass could have been trimmed up better around the camp ground utilities. The ground could have been sprayed. The second night, our trailer and the neighbors were evaded by ants. Went to Menards and bought ant spray. Sprayed the grounds that night and never saw another pest the 4 days after.
It would be interesting to publish the events also in Spanish, there are Latin people interested in attending these events.
There's a lot of history I do wish they would up dated there stairs before an accident happens little difficult for older people to go up those stairs.
Great place to ride your bike safely, getting exercise for yourself, kiddos, and your dog, on a leash of course.
A great playground is on-site for the little bike riders also.
The Katy Trail is easily accessed from the fairgrounds as well.
At the northeast corner of the ground, you'll find 'Trails End' outdoor museum. Dining and shopping, along with occasional activities, within feet of the many entrances.
