Mr Gilberti's Place Chicago Pizza reviews
21Limited menu, quaint atmosphere, the service is OK, servers seem overwhelmed, they could use a host/busser to help it run smoother, but the food is amazing! Tiramisu is delicious. Really wish they would consider adding Chicken Marsala to their menu with some fettuccine noodles, one can dream!
The food was just OK in my opinion. The service was good. Nothing too impressive, but nothing offensive as well. We had the Chicago style (Supreme) pizza with the ravioli appetizer. We ordered a little alfredo to dip our ravioli in and it was bland.
Really was excited to try this place’s pizza. I am not a fan of deep dish so I got their thin crust. I wasn’t super impressed with my pizza (just cheese) so maybe I should’ve put some meat on it. Their toasted ravioli was pretty good. Our order came with spinach dip surrounded by tiny rolls which was very flavorful! Their pasta was very flavorful as well. Overall good food but my pizza wasn’t the best. I would come here again though!
I worked at one of the best pizza joints in my home state for a number of years. But it doesn't compare to this. This is the best pizza I've ever had in my life.
If you make the correct choice of going here for dinner, don't forget to try the canoli too.
We're locals and visit Mr Gilbertis frequently. We love the food, the staff, and the atmosphere. They have the best offerings of Italian food and pizza in the area. My personal favorite is the thin crust pizza with Italian hamburger. One of the best pizzas I've ever had.
As with most restaurants these days there was a lack of staff. Food was ok, not great but it was served cold and the salad came out with the meal. If you can't serve everyone with good service then only open the tables you can accommodate.
We absolutely love this place! One of our favorites. It has been about a month since we had been due to our busy schedule so yesterday we went to enjoy the delicious food we had been craving. The GF Pizza is the BEST! We enjoyed every bite and even our salad was amazing as always. But yesterday as we were leaving my husband went to pay and our cards would not work. For some reason the machine or tech wasn’t cooperating yesterday. I had cash but it was in the car. Before I could get it my husband said a nice lady came and paid for our meal. Let me tell you.that is a hard pill to swallow if you are the one that is normally the giver. So, we accepted the blessing. Prayed MANY blessings back on this wonderful lady. And we will continue to support one of our favorite restaurants in Branson!
Thank you to MrG’s for being so awesome!
If you have been there you know the pizza is very good. Unfortunately, unless you are a regular you could be treated really poorly. Tonight, we arrived and one family member was inside to get a table. The family in front of us had eight and were told “we can not get you in”. The customer said “we can split to two tables of four”. Again, “we can not get you in”. My family member was next. The employee looked straight past my family member and said to the next guests “have not seen you in a while, come and sit here”. My family member turned and left as the employee and guests went to a table.
I was visiting out of town and wanted to order pizza. When I called to place an order the women who answered was rude and flippant. After ordering the food, because of the horrible attitude I decided to call back and cancel the order.
We had our grandkids with us. We ordered two Chicago style pizzas and another entree. The entree was one hour five minutes after we ordered and we were told that the pizzas would be coming in a few minutes. Thirty minutes later the pizza still had not been served. We asked again about when the pizzas would be ready we were told a few more minutes. Another fifteen minutes later the pizzas were served. We got to go boxes. We are local people, it was our one and only time dinning at Mr. Gilberto's.
Great pizza and appetizers plus wonderful service. You must take in all the celebrities that have been there with the pictures on their walls. Going a bit early doesn't hurt.
It's our favorite pizza. A must!
Complete waste of money, went to McDonald's in the end. Pizza was hard and not fresh, 40 minutes was obviously not how long it took. Then the salad had no fork, so largest waste of 34$ in Branson. Skip it.
As a Chicago pizza fan, I was pleasantly surprised to find really good Chicago style pizza in Branson. Mr Gilberti’s family are related to the Malnati’s and his stories of Chicago were awesome. Mr G has passed away but his recipes continue on thru the newer owners. The Chicago pan pizza has been consistently wonderful over the past 8 years or more.
I'm not big on Italian but i was out with friends and they really wanted to try this place. We ordered the shrimp pasta, Chicago style pizza, and spaghetti and meatballs. The shrimp pasta was definitely the winner! The atmosphere is nice, family and friends oriented. The servers were polite, well dressed and efficient. Would definitely recommend!
Awesome eatery! Can’t do dairy so they made a pizza for me without cheese! Awesomeness abounds! Others at table had the strawberry cake pictured! Fabulous! Brittney was professional and fun and watched out for my dairy issues! The best!
We could not have had a better experience for our first time at Mr Gilbertie's. The food and the service were wonderful. The place was very busy but we were seated immediately there's lots of seating. If you're going to order a pizza you might want to order ahead it takes a minimum of 25 minutes to get the pizza but it's a lovely place wonderful for visiting so waiting 25 minutes is not a problem if you're not in a hurry.
Can't say enough positive things about it! Food is fantastic, atmospheres great, so unique! Our 2nd time there, will go back when in the area. Waitresses are so friendly, very nice! Love their Chicago Mafia, black hat, shirt, red tie, and pinstripe apron.so fun!
This place honestly blew me away. The food is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is great! I greatly enjoyed listening to the big band brass music in the background! It really set the tone! I ended up talking for quite a while to the owner and my waitress. They have an awesome 20's-30's type of vibe to the whole place. They are pretty heavily Mafia themed with the waitresses even wearing aprons that look like the pinstripe suits of the 20's and Fedoras to match. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants Italian food and wants a great experience while you are at it!
The food here is delicious! We tried the deep dish pepperoni pizza, fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, the pasta dish that had the house-made sausage/onions/peppers, lasagna, tomato bread, fried ravioli, garlic bread, meatballs and chocolate brownie cake. All the food is amazing and the staff is just as amazing as well! So HIGHLY recommend this place when you go to Branson!
This review is based more on our overall experience rather than the food. We stopped at Mr. Gilberti's for lunch. We were going to a show at 2: 00 and only had about 65 minutes before our show, but they were rated so well we wanted to try the pizza. The hostess was very nice, but our waitress was unfriendly. She told us it would take 25 minutes to get our food so we knew we would have to eat quickly. It took 50 minutes to get our food. We had to take it to go, which ruined our dining experience and also made us late for our show We tried to eat while we were driving only to find out our pizza had green peppers on it rather than the green olives I ordered. I even had a discussion with the server about whether they had green olives, which were my preference, or only the black ones shown on the menu. She told me she would make certain they put green olives on the pizza if they had them, but we ended up with green peppers, which we detest. As a result, we couldn't even eat half of the pizza. We were a few minutes late for our show, which we couldn't enjoy because we were so aggravated about the food taking so long and our pizza order being incorrect. I called to complain and was initially told they would only credit us for the incorrect topping. After expressing dissatisfaction with that option, they agreed to credit half off the price of the pizza, which was thrown out. The food itself would have probably been good if we could have eaten it at the restaurant, but the overall experience was poor.
