Mugs-Up Root Beer, Independence MO

I wasn't sure about this place until we got there and the parking lot was FULL! I'm from Oklahoma City and had never had this place before. Parking lot full is always a good sign. Menu looked freaking amazing. I got the whiz burger and OMG! THE BEST LOOSE BURGER IVE HAD IN MY LIFE! Fries on point and the root beer was AHHHMAZING! Seasoning of the meat in the meat is amazing as well. My bf got the chili whiz dog and fell in love! We will absolutely be back next time in MO. AND the waitress was so awesome and very helpful on telling us about MUGS UP and the history of this place. And deciding what to eat. So awesome! Everyone should go here!

Most definitely old school where the girls come out and take your order and guys too I shouldn't do that LOL. If you like loose meat sandwiches add hot fries and the best root beer in town and this is the place to go!

This has easily become one of my favorite places to eat. There is NOTHING like this anywhere else and the burgers here are to die for. I love that I can leave my burger sitting for awhile and go back to it later and warm it up, and its just as amazing as straight out of the restaurant. I think this is, in part, due to the fact that they sell loose meat burgers, but mostly just because they are amazingI am not exaggerating, this place is phenomenal! Perfevt for comfort food. They are SUPER fast and the staff here are great! I have loved everything I have tried on the menu, but my top 3 faves are the whiz burgers, cheese fries and onion ringsGo check it out!

Mugs Up is one of our favorite lunch stops. We love the simple menu and the real frosty glass mugs of house made root beer. Nothing beats that plus a Whiz burger and an order of crispy crinkle-cut fries. This place is a gem and shouldn't change a thing! I highly recommended this place.

Easily better than sonic. They got great chili dogs and even better rootbear floats. Wife gets the nugs and fries and they're just as good. Chilli dog with fires, large rootbear, nugs and fries were all just $9. Good deal!

Best Root Beer in town. Best carhops in town as well they're always so friendly and were so kind to me when I brought my dog with me. They even gave her some ground beef

Been around forever-when it's delicious food, friendly people and great prices you tend to stay in business. Carhops take your order-food is fast hot and fantastic. Love the zip burgers and root beer.

All my years living in kc and I recently tried this place the root beer for me wasnt strong enough lol but my boyfriend loved it and that bbq sandwhich hit alllllll the right spots for me. Looking forward to going back.

Wife and I tried it on a whim and it was DELICIOUS. Our server was an incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic woman who explained the menu to us when we told her it was our first time. Food was hot, delicious, and surprisingly cheap for the quality. Happy to see a local place thriving. Will be sure to come again anytime we want sandwiches.

Delicious food & great service. Janice is so friendly and nice, she always has a smile My favorite foods to get are the fried mushrooms, onion rings & the loose meat cheeseburger.

This place has been here for a long time. Yjey stay pretty busy and are reasonably priced. Someone comes out to your car to take.your order and then brings it back out to you.

I don't understand they hype around this place. I thought I was going to enjoy it, but the Whiz Burger was so bad I couldn't finish it. It's a loose meat burger with an odd flavor and a slab of fake cheese on top. The tater tots were fine, bland, but fine. The root beer is very strong. If you enjoy black licorice, you'll love it. I wouldn't order it again. Sorry, Mugs Up, but my maiden voyage was such a disappointment, I won't be back.

This is one of my favorite places to eat at. Great food for the price, at least to me and my family. Their rootbeer is really good too. So glad it's still around after all these years!

All our food was cold. We were missing 1 sandwich and 3 of 7 were special ordered special and they were not right. We were there at 7: 15 pm. We were very
unhappy with our visit. When you spend $35 you want it good.
