Nature Trail At Unity Village reviews
17At the fork turn left for as that lower portion of the trail is the most scenic and there are exercise stations. The upper half of the loop is less scenic through a field. There is only one steep hill otherwise the hike is very easy.
Nice wide trail. Many grades so that is why I say moderate. Kinda boring yet very peaceful.
The Village is a well maintained area with the most wonderful hiking trail. I wore my chaco sandals which generally are good for walking. My ankles wished I'd worn hiking boots. The trail is hilly and rocky. Not huge rocks, but gravel to driveway rocks. The distance is a couple of miles. Beautiful scenery. I'll be back!
The trail is mostly gravel or dirt, but it is rarely muddy. There are two spots that have inclines. The one about halfway by the dam is steeper and the final leg of the trail is also uphill.
This is a great nature trail for those that have a moderate fitness level. You will have to go uphill to get back to the trailhead so strollers and wheelchairs will be challenging, as it's a gravel & dirt path. I only had an hour to explore so I went to the "bridge" which is a cool cave/tunnel-like structure with a little creak running through it. It's quite breathtaking if you love nature and things like this! Wear a good pair of walking or hiking shoes as this is a can't miss nature trail. I will definitely be back to explore some more.
Great trail, nice and wide packed gravel. Partially shaded with some fitness spots along the way.
It's a very nice nature trail and a good hike. Make sure to wear good solid tennis shoes or hiking shoes, as it is gravel. I've gone a couple times unprepared and my feet payed for it later. There's a beautiful little creek that has small minnows and crawfish my kids like to explore. There's also a big pond/small lake at the back of the loop which is beautiful as well. I often see deer or other small animals along the path. I find it helps me and my kids reconnect to our best selves and chill out a bit.
The park is very beautiful. I had an intimate picnic with my close friends but we were told to leave because it was considered an event which I didn’t understand because it was not. Mind you I called Unity Village customer service two weeks before my picnic to confirm that Picnics were allow at the park and that it wouldn’t be a problem and I was told by customer service that it was allow as long as we clean up. However, that wasn’t the case. So if anyone is wanting to have a picnic with friends and a little set up just keep in mind that you have to book the place. This is white people play ground so any small decorations is considered an event. However, the event manger was very respectful and give us time to clean up. I just wished customer service would have told me that I needed to book the place.
The trail itself is always very well maintained. We saw many different birds today including a blue heron in the creek. Honestly the best part was seeing they had a restroom in the parking lot. Whoever finally made the decision to do that deserves HUGE kudos.
The most amazing place I have ever been. It's so peaceful there and you can really get intouch with your self here. Lots of quality time thinking with no distraction. Wish I lived there.
Well maintained trail! And afterwards stop at the coffee cafe at Unity Village for refreshments!
Great trail, some cool things to see when you're walking. The natural bridge was probably my favorite part, right before you actually start the trail. Will definitely be back
Mostly shaded, small gravel type trails. You'll walk by streams, lakes, fields and bluffs. The loop is only about two miles, but more can be added around Unity Village. We went 5 miles on our last walk.
Itv was beautiful as always. I still hate that darn hill, but what can you do. I appreciate the little shelter at the top of the hill.
Very nice trail, very kept up. There is a cave to check out and lots of nature to look at.
I have been visiting this place since 1965. Back then it was totally isolated from any major cities. Lee's summit was more of a farming community then. The great thing about Unity Village is that it hasn't really changed all that much in the last 48 years I've been visiting it. Very peaceful walks, deer sitings, quiet solitude and a great place to visit for soul refreshment. It's a time capsule that is one of the best kept secrets around. If you're looking for some peace in your life, this place will deliver. Once u ou visit, you'll always return.
