Olshan Foundation Repair, Raytown MO

Jeff from Olshan came out to look at a dropping sidewalk next to our porch. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and honest about our situation. You don’t always find that these days, and that was very much appreciated.

All 6 of these guys: Gabriel, Gerardo, Guzman, Leo, Torrez and Estiven worked exceptionally hard to complete the job today. The exterior conditions were very cold but they worked non-stop to dig and add a pier to our foundation. The job they did was exactly what they described they would do. I would highly recommend them.

Workers worked really hard in verry cold weather to finish the project. They did not waste time and cleaned up the area nicely when they finished. Pleased with the work.

Despite having 15 piers installed around and under the center of my home I still needed more piers as the front side of the house was still sinking down. Robert Edsall was our first contact with Olshan. He was very courteous and fully explained what he thought was needed to fix the problem. He also was extremely helpful in helping us get reasonable financing to complete the job.
The work crew (Gerado, Guzman, Gabriel, Leo, Estiven and Torrez} arrived on time as scheduled. Gabriel the supervisor of the group explained in detail how they were going to put in 5 piers and made sure that what Mr Edsall had told us and what work they had been given were the same.
Having had piers put in before I was greatly surprised when Gabriel said that the work would be completed in one day.
You cannot believe how much dirt comes out of the ground for
5 piers. Despite cutting through the concrete floor in my basement and digging out the holes that were needed to install the piering the work was indeed completed in one day.
The concrete work looks good and the clean up job done by the crew was excellent.
My screen and front doors are both working properly. The work warranty is good and most importantly it looks like the Olshan will still be in business to honor the warranty if needed.

I would not recommend this company because (1) the installation was unprofessional and the finished product (the wall shield and drain system/sump pumps) looks awful - it's dirty and sloppy; (2) they started the project on September 29th and "finished" it 2 months later; and (3) the office and contractors do not communicate with each other. Many of their contractors complained that they had to be at the job site and tried to sell me work they were performing on the side (landscaping and replacement of a driveway).

I hired Olshan to install a drain system and two sump pumps, and to installed their “Wall Shield” barrier, and paid more than $20,000 for this work. They were scheduled to install over 3 days in late September. The work was not completed in those three days. They left the exterior drain from the sump pump laying in the back yard, along with walls that were falling down. They told me everything would be complete within 2-3 weeks. It took numerous calls and emails over the 8 weeks to finally get them to come back and finish the project. When the contractors showed up to complete the project, they still had no idea of the work to be completed, and complained about having to go to Home Depot to get supplies to finish the work. They were angry with me when I asked them why the walls were left dirty and how concrete could be poured outside when the top temperature that day would not hit 40 degrees. I’ve attached pictures showing many of the problems with their work, including:

• Taped up the walls, which were then falling down; only solution they had was to remove them (I was not refunded whatever they charged me to install the Wall Shield on that portion of the wall) ;
• Walls are dirty (some areas have foot and hand prints)
• Some of the walls are already pulling away (the screws aren't in the walls at all)
• The floors drains were covered with cement
• The sump pumps and battery backups were left dirty and were splashed with cement
• Multiple areas of the floor that had cracked when the drain was installed were left with cracks
• Screws that are supposed to hold up the wall are detached

I would not recommend this company. Please go somewhere else. I now have to pay a general contractor to clean up the mess that they left.

I live in the Armour Hills neighborhood in Kansas City. We had a wing wall in the front of the house that was sinking as evidenced by a separation in the mortar of the bricks. I feel the service I got from Henry, Raul, Joshua, Estiven and Edgar Torres was outstanding. I asked Henry a few questions before they got started and he explained everything. The men worked very hard. As they worked they did their best to keep everything neat and clean. The job turned out to be a little more than expected but they just kept at it until finished. I think the product (Cable Lock Plus System) sounded great and the installation by the crew was superb! I'd highly recommend them and Olshan products to any one who needs foundation repair.

I am very pleased that I picked Olshan to level and support my garage foundation. Martin Bello, Noe Martinez, Federico Melendez, Antonio Melendez, Amilcar Garcia, and Antonio Hernandez were on the crew that did my project. They were great! Very polite and went above and beyond to replace landscape and cleanup.

We had work done to raise part of our foundation. The work began on Jan 3, so the weather was cold. The man in charge seemed to be in a big hurry and probably over-estimated the required number of holes to dig. They hit bedrock immediately, but continued with the plan using jack hammers to cut deeply into the bedrock and could not use their "patented" cable lock system. Nevertheless, they made a mess and accomplished almost nothing. Still they charged us the full amount in the contract and extracted thousands of dollars for very little. I cannot give a good review even though I have waited nearly two years to see if there would be a satisfactory result over time.

The worst customer service I have ever dealt with! Can’t get anyone to return my calls! Each time I talk to someone they said oh well we have to pass that along to so and so. Trying to close on a new home and they could potentially make me lose the contract on the new home. I was going to use them for concrete repair but I can tell you I’m most definitely not going to be using this company. If I could give 0 stars I would. P

Olshan did 14 piers around my property. Raised it probably 3+ inches. It has made a dramatic difference on the feel of the house. Probably more correct now than when I bought it. I personally want to thank Gabriel, Gerardo, Leo, Guzman, Sergio and Ramon for all their hard work. I really want to point out Gabriel for always being willing to take the time to answer any of my questions and going above and beyond on many things he didn't need to do.
