Paddy Creek Campground reviews
7Family and pet friendly campground and beautiful crystal clear spring water. Beautiful trails, picnic areas, wildlife. Clean and paved once you enter the grounds. Small camping fee for personal sites with tables, fire pit and hooks fir lanterns and trash bags. I highly recommend it. Been going there for 30 years
Primitive forest service campground. First come first serve. Suggest $8/night. Picnic tables, fire ring and lantern handing pole at each campsite. One latrine pit restroom.
Quite often you have it to yourself. Nice restroom, kept clean. No grass for horses. Trails are super rocky.
Super chill, zero issues. River access super close. Make sure to bring a truck/Jeep road is rough to say it kindly
One of the better NFS campgrounds, the area is superb but the upkeep and maintenance is subpar compared to State Parks. As far as experiencing the area goes, this an excellent location for astrophotography and just generally looking at a night sky because it is well removed from ground light. The river is nice here, but access to it from the campground is best done using the creek. This is Black Snake country mainly, Northern Water Snakes are in the waters.no Cottonmouth's in clear spring fed streams and creeks, this is not a swamp area. It's not uncommon to encounter 6' plus Black Snakes which are known to be aggressive but are non-venomous.and they eat Rattlesnakes so don't harm them? Mainly a swimming hole location.fyi
It is very Tick infested and the campsites are inside of the tree canopies and secluded mostly so come prepared or be ready to have family tick pluckings.
People are hosing down campsites with foggers and insecticides
It's what happens when 3rd party contractors are allowed to operate Public Facilities. "disaster" and it's everywhere the NFS as facilities, not just here.
"It's not working and a complete failure, 3rd Party Contractors are inept and neglectful, focused on fee collections primarily"
We had steps that someone had made for getting in and out of the water close to the campsite. Had a lot of fun. Our dogs loved it. All the campsites have a fire pit with a grate top. The campsites are very private with lots of trees. We had a big turtle come thru. We didn't have a problem finding wood to build fires. The roads all around have wood laying close to the road & back in the woods. We just threw in the back of the truck and in about 30 minutes we had a truck bed full of small & big pieces of wood. When your in the creek bed lots of cool looking rocks. I seen a lot of colorful fish swimming around
