Pita Pit, Springfield MO

Place went from great, to bad, to worse, all with the change of ownership. There was a noticeable decline in quality and service when Dave sold it. The hours are, quite literally, unpredictable now. I've tried to stop in several times in the last few months, and they have been closed every time (in the middle of the day). If Google didn't day otherwise I'd assume they're out of business. They aren't gonna be around much longer at this rate, and I won't be trying to give this place my money anymore.

The food is excellent, the service is excellent, and the prices are fair. More people need to come here! This place should have way more customers for the great product they offer! Do yourself a favor and go to pita pit when hungry! Everything here is great! If you get a large pita though, you won't want chips.

Horribly understaffed. One poor dude at noon, by himself (moving like a slug, but it's pretty clear he's given up all hope). I placed a Togo order a half hour ago, and I've been sitting here for 10 minutes and I haven't even been acknowledged. Pretty sure my orders on the grill? Hard to say cause it's lunch time and there's 5 people in line and he's making ONE ORDER AT A TIME. Don't shop at places who can't staff properly!

This place has a roach problem, and so does the one on Battlefield. They have an incredibly hard time having all ingredients for all available pitas, and some of them sit in the cooler up front until they rot. Hell, some of the ingredients rot while they sit in the walk-in in the back because there aren't enough customers to prep food in advance

We arrived at 10: 20 because they were listed as opening as 10. The sign on the door said they open at 10: 30, so we decided to wait. We waited until 10: 45 without seeing any signs that anyone was in the building. Around 10: 48, we saw someone come out of the back, look around, and go right back into the back without opening the front doors.

We decided it wasn't worth waiting until 11 to find out if they were actually going to open and went elsewhere

There have been instances in the past month my BF and I try to go but the employees turn the sign off before 6pm when we thought online it says they are open until 8p. Please correct your times that you are open or a note on the window. I believe this place is permanently closed. I once called there at 6 last month and a employee answered and said yeah we're open even though the online order system does not take orders after 5pm. Today was the 3rd time we wasted gas, drove all the way there to find all the lights off at 6: 30

Been a few years, but last visit 09/23, there was no ice and the drink fountain was not working. All drinks were warm. "Create your own", keeps the menu small. I think they have staffing issues. No one was at counter when I came in and fellow said his help left for a family reunion "he forgot about". Still a good bit of food, but for a single meal was $14.and some change. I think this is a situation where rats are leaving the ship because they know it is sinking.

I will never be back. I'd recommend the same. Employees just sit in back and let the worst employee run the front. Walked out after 10 minutes not a hello we will be right with ya. Instead looks of annoyance

We spent 15 minutes waiting for one person who seemed to be stuck there alone to slowly make two people's food before we ordered only to get tasteless, dry, cold food. I can see why these keep closing down unfortunately.

After waiting for a while for the guy working to finish talking with a girl who was also ordering, he finally looks at me and said they were closed. It is 6: 15 and their website said they do not close until 8: 00. Super rude employee, absolutely horrible experience.

Unfortunate how far this place has fallen in Springfield. Half the time they are missing ingredients so the full menu isn't in play. The staff when we were there were too busy vaping in the back to come fix our food.

Used to be our favorite healthy place for a sandwich alternative. Heartbreaking that it's so disappointing now.

Walked in at 11: 10 and watched the not so happy guy working, turn the skillet on as I was looking at the menu. To which he turned to me and said "it's gonna be a while, we just opened" in a flat rude tone. Maybe get there a little earlier to get your prep done so you can serve people when you open? Kinda like every other food establishment ever. Also was about 10% of the chips stocked on the rack, it just seemed like he didn't care about customer service. I left immediately.

This place was really really good! The service offered was even better that made the food taste amazing! They were really patient when we were place our order and the quantity you get was amazing. This is like chipotle overloaded but a lot better and cleaner.
Highly recommend going here.

Not open at 1015am then someone was on the phone talking and not ready for us. We left but do understand it's hard to find help.

Terrible service, Very rude owner.very VERY unsanitary, I've seen roaches there. Closes at random times.

My 3rd time coming and each time welcomed with friendly service, great food (as, it's fully loaded each time), and wonderful seating atmosphere. They always cater to my diet requests and I'm happy to say I'll be returning once again. Philly Salad is my fav!
